Life Is Simple In the Moonlight Lyrics

Animals on TV singing
About some pain that they once felt
There's no one I disapprove of or root for more than myself
I wanted to pretend that it was better, better, better on the phone
I didn't wanna tell you I was jealous, jealous, jealous and alone

So we talk about ourselves and hell
To forget the love we never felt
All the old jokes that work so well
Universal truth was a moment's lie

Don't try to stop us
Don't try to stop us
Don't try to stop us
Get out of the way

Got to get to climb your tree in the light of the living ghost I see
She sees her father in that old man's eyes while secretly he stares at her thighs
Animals on TV singing about some they felt at some point
I didn't want to tell you I was jealous, jealous, jealous
What's the point?

As I watch the velvet drapes appear
And that door was closed for 40 years
As we hide what we don't want to hear
As we hide what's really in our ears

He is coming from a part of hell
Where lightning blue eyes don't go down well
He can tell that we're oblivious
It's addiction of routine as well

Making fools out of the best of us
Making robots of the rest of us
Innocence itself in America today
Is a crime just like Cornel West might say

Don't try to stop us
Don't try to stop us
Don't try to stop us
Get out of our way

Dude I get the last verse. The devil is coming from hell to destroy the world because we're all oblviious to the fact that we're made into robots and fools by the powers that be through the routines of going to work or being addicts or whatever trite and meaningless things people do with their lives.

Even people who just show up at work everyday and are "innocent" in America are guilty too because of the massive sins that this country commits and the fact that they don't try to do more to stop it, making no one innocent.

It's a lot like the last album closer Red Light "Do it for the peole that will die for your sake, 7 billion people who got nothing to say." and some of the lyrics on 11th Dimension "If you believe in this war then no one has died in vain but don't you dare get to the top and not know what to do."

I think he feels like I do--that all the technology and slow disintegration of morals in the world will be the slow end of it--the lightning blue eyes thing--the seemingly startling beauty and convenience of all these things, but how they come fron hell to destroy us.

Jules really hates the war and the shit this country and all humanity really is guilty for. In that sense, he thinks a lot like George Carlin, another true saint/ poet/ philosopher/ genius artist and, incidently a member of the D.(ead) I.(dealistic) D.(esperate) I.(nventor) P.(ioneer) P.(hilosophers).

I think it's pretty much about the end of the world. GREAT SONG!!! GREAT ART! Jesus, I wish he was still composing all the music to that band.

p.s. I know this comment is really long and no one will ever read it. (I never read really long posts) But anyway, it felt great to write it.

good point.....

good point.....

Amazing post... Props.

As I watched the bell with drapes appear

And I don't withclose for fourty years 'cause we hide what we don't wanna hear As we hide what's real, hear, hear

He is coming from a part of hell Where like Nanbu I don't go down well He can't tell that when oblivion It's a ditch strung out, routine as well

Making fools out of the best of us Making robots of the rest of us In that sense I tell in America today There's a crack, just like going out westward

Don't try to stop us Don't try to stop us Don't try to stop me Get out of the way

As I watched the velvet drapes appear And that door was closed for 40 years 'Cause we hide what we don't want to hear As we hide we our dream, near here

He is coming from a part of hell Where light green-blue eyes don't go down well He can tell that we're oblivious It's a diction and routine as well

Making fools out of, the best of us Making robots of, the rest of us And our silence itself, in America today Is a crime just like, going out westward

Thanks for the corrections!

These lyrics sound off in a few places, but I am sure something substantial will come out since the album is dropping soon.

Lyric Correction

Yeah, a friend and I were trying to figure out what he says, but it's kinda tricky with so many different suggestions. These lyrics are based on the live SNL version.

PS: I think this might be my favorite song off the album, right ahead of Gratisfaction.

My Opinion

Julian is singing:" Animals on tv singing about some pain that they once felt" , it's not "something" but "some pain".
