Basically it's about being nervous to fall in love because you don't know if that person will break your heart or not, and you have trust issues because you have had your heartbroken before and you're scared it might happen again. Everything is going good right now, but things could change and she just wants to know if the guy is serious and wants a long-term relationship.
mhm, I agree. I too really like the song, and believe it is about a very cautious girl who, if she is gonna dive into a relationship, is gonna do it right. She sounds nervous, but whenever she is around him, she feels so right and hopes he feels the same.

For goodness sakes, there are no guarantees in life (just as a band never knows if they have a hit on their hands until the track's released). What is the alternative to a gamble; it's DEFEAT. I would hate to go through life wondering WHAT IF. Much like test taking, you never leave any question blank for that's an automatic ZERO. If you gamble, your odds are beter. Life is too short to be afraid, especially when it involves something as special as LOVE. As the people at Nike said (and cashed in on): Just Do It.
