Not Enough Lyrics
I'm sorry if this hurts you
But I tried to keep what we had once
I was wrong, it wasn't keeping me awake
You didn't listen, you didn't hear me
When I said I want more, I got no more
You were stealing me away, oh
It's not enough, it's not enough to give me
What it is I want
It's not enough, it's not enough to get me
Everything I need
And I, I wish you worse
I think it's time to give this up
All the memories that we're losing
All the time that I spent with you everyday
I think it's running down the drain
I'm feeling we're fading
Don't make this as hard as you think it would be
It's a lot easier than it seems
Yeah-yeah
It's not enough, it's not enough to give me
What it is I want
It's not enough, it's not enough to get me
Everything I need
And I, I wish you worse
I think it's time to give this up
And I can feel it falling down
Slowly, slowly
I can see it starting to drown
Can't stop it now
I can see it burning out
So show me, show me
How you're gonna turn it around
Because
It's not enough, it's not enough to give me
What it is I want
It's not enough, it's not enough to get me
Everything I need
It's not enough, it's not enough to give me
What it is I want
It's not enough, it's not enough to get me
Everything I need

I think its about a relationship crumbling, but its not actually that hard to give it all up. All the things they try to do to save their relationship is not enough and it ends anyway.
It's basically about a failed relationship and nothing they do seems to please one another.
I love this song!!(: Her new album is amazing

It's "I wish it was" not, "I wish you worse"
Am I the only one who thinks this song is about Deryck Whibley? What she's saying is that their relationship was crumbling, they were unable to please each other in whatever they did, and she thinks it's better for both of them if they give it up. It's 'I wish it was' not 'I wish you worse', by the way.
To me this song references Sum 41's "With Me". The two songs use the same chord progression and the melodies are very similar. The lyrics are opposite to each other with Lavigne reflecting how it's time to part ways. It's about the ending of her marriage with Whibley.
It's about her relationship slowly fizzling out and how anything that they do for each to re-kindle it is just not working, must be awful to watch a orginally loving relationship slowly fall apart like this
<3 you Avril
I believe that the song is about two people who have been in a relationship for a long time, but somewhere along the way they lost their spark. They fell into a routine and gave each other everything, but now they have to realize that without love this routine stops working for the two of them. I think it's about love and losing it, and even though you regret losing it, you have to let go because it isn't enough.
