Please Lyrics

I, I
Lost, lost
All respect, admiration, and
Trust, trust
I was just, just
Following my heart
And he tells me he's unfaithful
And now I need for you to tell me it's alright

Please, oh please
Don't do this to me
Baby please, oh please
Don't get over me

I fall, fall
You were there, there
To expose him, what a smooth plan
I should've seen, seen
Through your disguise, surprise
You've found a replacement
And he tells me he's faithful
But I know better now
So please just tell me it's alright

Please, oh please
Don't do this to me
Baby please, oh please
Don't get over me

I'm sorry you've got so much
Against you coming into this
I appreciate your patience
I know that you've been hurt too
Ohh, we're black and blue
Baby, let's make this one count
I will always be around
I wanna be with you forever

Please, oh please
Don't do this to me, baby
Please, oh please
Don't get over me, oh baby
Please, oh please
Don't do this to me, baby
Please, oh please
Don't get over me

I think it's about meeting Max while her heart was healing.

"I'm sorry you've got so much Against you coming into this I appreciate your patience I know that you've been hurt too"

People had a lot to say about them starting a relationship so soon after her divorce. Her heart was falling but her head was afraid to let her fall. He stuck through it and proved he was all that she needed.

Wow don't know how I didn't think of that before. The song as a whole makes so much more sense to me now. It's almost like she's just pleading with Max to not get over her like the others before him did. An insecurity when the relationship was probably still new, wanting to trust, but still being guarded because of the past. Something I think most people can relate to.

The only part that confuses me a bit still is the second verse. I can't see how that might be toward Max, but maybe more so to Chad?

I think you're dead on that the second verse is referring to Chad.

I think she's saying "let's make this one count" instead of "let's make this work out." Great song, though. Who hasn't felt this way before?

She is saying "make this one count."

This song is about Hayley Williams, in a roundabout way, haha.

Can you maybe explain a little? Cause I think I see what you're getting at, but this is the only song that confuses me a little bit...

i'm thinking these lines might possibly be directed at Hayley Williams:

" I, I Lost, lost All respect, admiration, and Trust, trust I was just, just Following my heart" & " I fall, fall You were there, there To expose it, what a smooth plan I should've seen, seen Through your disguise, surprise You've found a replacement"

because i read somewhere that Sherri and Hayley used to be friends but now, Sherri's respect for her is gone. and she was there the whole time and never exactly suspected what was going on, so it was quite a surprise.

It's definitely about her ex husband who cheated on her.

As far as the second verse, they met while she was in a relationship with someone who was also cheating. "you were there, there, to expose him, what a smooth plan."

"Sad" is probably directed at Hayley, but that's it. I doubt she was that important as a "friend" (don't make me laugh) to the Duprees.
