Guns Out Lyrics

Get out your guns it’s time to start a fight
Oh, and it won’t take too long
I want to make it right
Just tell me that you feel the calm

It’s all a waterfall
So I
Can feel the water fall!

You’ll drive in my car
Just tell me we are going somewhere
Where the stars meet the sky
And all these people with small dreams
Are looking up at the big screen
Am I wrong or am I right

It’s all a waterfall, Oh

Get out the car it’s time for me to drive
Oh, you’ve been at it long
I want to spend the night
Just tell you were all alone

It’s all a waterfall
And I
Can feel the water fall! Down me

I’ll drive in my car
Just tell me we are going somewhere
Where the stars meet the sky
And all these people with small dreams
Are looking up at the big screen
Am I wrong or am I right

It’s all a waterfall, ooh
Can feel the water fall, ooh
It’s all a waterfall
Can feel the water fall

You’ll drive in my car
Just tell me we are going somewhere
Where the stars meet the sky
And all these people with small dreams
Are looking up at the big screen
Am I wrong or am I right

It’s all a waterfall, Oh

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, neither of you bozos explained the song! It's called SONGMEANINGS for a reason, not SONGLIKINGS or SONGSUCKS or SONGRATINGS. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. (Redundant, but necessary:) When I am left to myself to figure out a song, I am left with nothing. Nothing I tell you. Nothing. And thank you BOTH for NOTHING. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This is possibly the best song on the album.

Quite possibly; it is certainly the most haunting.

My Opinion

I feel like this song is about that rush you get to just go and do. You know the feeling you just wanna drive somewhere aimlessly for hours. The sense of adventure awaiting and wanting to see better scenery than those in the screens.

My Interpretation

With this song I get an image of world leaders and their people. In the first stanza, the leader wants to start a war that he believes is swift justice and he expects people to agree that this is righteous. They're supposed to be patriotic and willing to die.

"You'll drive in my car" is supposed to make these soldiers feel as if they are they ones in control. And also like like the leader is trusting them with his life. You control the wheel. While being assured that this is glorious. Then it's talking about the masses of people looking up at a "big screen" like people gathering for announcements from a dictator who's delusional.

But then it says "Get out the car, it's time for me to drive" Which is the inevitable outcome as leaders abandon their people and protect themselves. They're statistics, dying while the leader is drunk on delusions of glory and power. There on after, it's "I'll drive in my car". The people are forgotten and he cares only about himself. All the while for him, "it's so wonderful".

Every time I think I know clearly what this song is about, I reset. I went the Natural Born Killers route, but the "it won't take too long" I felt kind of throws a wrench into that interpretation. I also thought it may be about the band's journey to stardom, fighting against the mainstream to reach something of a higher order (and oh god have these guys done just this), changing drivers might refer to artistic direction being lead by one or the other.
