Lissie's Heart Murmer Lyrics
On the edge of the water where the ships pass by
and the sound of your laughter in the endless sky
tips my head back, full of swimming thoughts
beneath deep breathing that sinks so far down
that sings so far down
and I handle my business and I know the prize
is of no consequence. You have looked with your eyes
wide open to what's inside, that sinks so far down
I'm in two
I went looking, went searching under the water
sinking and pushing, till you pulled me under
to where you are, to where we build our house
and so we sink so far down
and we can't go back now, can't go back now
on the edge of the water where the ships pass by
and the sound of your laughter in the endless sky
tips my head back, full of swimming thoughts
beneath deep breathing
now I stay holding this honesty with you
I went looking, went searching under the water
sinking and pushing, till you pulled me under
to where you are, to where we build our house
and so we sink so far down
and we can't go back now
sink so far down when I know you're around
and I can't go back now, can't go back now
and the sound of your laughter in the endless sky
tips my head back, full of swimming thoughts
beneath deep breathing that sinks so far down
that sings so far down
is of no consequence. You have looked with your eyes
wide open to what's inside, that sinks so far down
sinking and pushing, till you pulled me under
to where you are, to where we build our house
and so we sink so far down
and we can't go back now, can't go back now
and the sound of your laughter in the endless sky
tips my head back, full of swimming thoughts
beneath deep breathing
sinking and pushing, till you pulled me under
to where you are, to where we build our house
and so we sink so far down
and we can't go back now
and I can't go back now, can't go back now

This song indeed is about girl falling in love with mermaid, but its metaphor
A lot of our music is about self-reflection – I mean, all the lyrics are. “Majesty” is about a relationship I had, and I finally won that person back, because they were just not there where I wanted them to be, but then I realized I didn’t want it anymore. Emily and I wrote “Warpaint” together, which is a story about a conflicted person. Emily’s song, “Baby,” is obviously about a break-up. “Lissie’s Heart Murmur” is also one of Emily’s – it’s about somebody who just doesn’t want to live anymore.
@Puhkify surprised to see one of you comment on here, thank you for dropping in! The self-reflective aspect of the lyrics have been thought-driving and just, good as hell to hear for what they are.

Wanted to say, seeing you all open for MGMT in OKC (best friend and I went for yr set) was like watching a calling in progress. As an artist and observer, it's those moments.. Chalk it up to the casual (or even intentional) mysticism of music, poetry, whatever it is that breaks through the moment and beyond the subject.. that I just fuckin' live for.

Anyway, ~ridiculously stoned~ and wishing you the best!
I haven't though a lot about the meaning, but the way Emily sings the word "Endless" nearly tears my heart to pieces every time I hear it.
Yes it is a beatiful song ... my favourite in the album ..these girls play great but again i thought the lyrics are different especially the first part
i thought it is - "
Takes my head back go swimming godspeed me ..deep breathing but we sink so far down " or maybe "i sink .."
Not sure anyway its a great final song for the album
I read an interview with one of the band members and she said that the song is about a woman who falls in love with a mermaid and leaves to live and be with him.
Dude... it's "Murmur".
