Your full moon taunts me

You put me, you put me on yourself
You've been at yourself
You woke me up last night
And my eyes lit up like lights
Like a string of pearls
But you still did what you wanted

And all the time it took you to get your self straight
All that time it took you to get your self straight
All that time it took you to get yourself straight
Was too late
So work harder for the things you made in me

And your full moon taunts me
And your thoughts they got me
(Got me in
Got me in)

And all the time it took you to get your self straight
All that time it took you to get your self straight
All that time it took you to get yourself straight
Was too late
So work harder for the things you made in me

Did I reset what I started?
Did I resist what I wanted?
Do I think you've got my number?
I'm not the one to continue on.

All that time it took you to get yourself straight
Was too late
So work harder for the things you made in me

I think that part of these lyrics are of meaning for anyone to be interpreted. These lyrics are really versatile and many people can connect their emotions to these vague/cryptic lyrics. Which is why I think that this band is really compelling. But for the most part it seems like someone who is troubled is dealing with someone who is troubled themselves..they seem to be leading her on while she waits and fixes things in herself for him when he doesn't do the same so it's messing her up. It seems like she keeps trying to make this person happy but they let her down no matter how much time she gives them. It looks like she loves whomever a lot and they just don't understand it. And the full moon it taunts her.. I think it is because usually when night seeps in..people tend to think of things. The moon is taunting and toying with her thoughts..making her confused and restless and even more confused with this person who is just as confused as her. This song is supposed to be confusing, i think. It involves troubled souls

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
