Together

This song was used as a promotional single in the compilation 'Ultimate', and its meaning is relevant to this.

The first verse goes through a more negative, co-dependent side of being "together" with something, which reflects their relationship with their record company at the time; one they were soon to part with in the next couple of years. It's saying that while they needed the company and were grateful to them, it was also a relationship bound by contractual ties- "anything you wanna do / I'm gonna need to follow through"- one aspect of it being this new compilation- and probably a relationship they were questioning the future of.

The chorus and second verse by contrast, are about the positive side of being together with something; namely Chris and Neil being with each other: "together's amazing, together we're blazing." The lyrics are saying that no matter what happens in their career future and life, they will be there with each other until the end: "together we'll go all the way."

Probably feeling the pressure of time passing, this is Chris and Neil rolling the dice ("Time is short / the die is cast" ), and making the decision to be together forever; and as a result gaining confidence that they can get through whatever the future holds for them: "Whatever we have to do, I'm gonna be with you."

There's as much a deeply personal as well as professional aspect to this; "so much love inside us" / "together I'll cry with you."

"Everything's easy in this state of mind / The world starts to fade as we leave them behind": these problems are insignificant because we have each other.

Ultimately, this song is Chris & Neil realising that their relationship with each other, love for each other, is the key strength of the band, and the most important thing, and that this will outlast any record contract or setback.

It seems to be describing an almost codependent, creepy sort of relationship.
