The song is about how other bands are always trying to compete with them and prove who is the best. The bonus DVD of the album explains it with Jeremy's commentary on every song.
Paul Reveres Midnight Ride vs. 2nd Sucks A Day To Remember and Four Year Strong were both supporting acts for New Found Glory. During the tour A Day To Remember got more publicity than Four Your Strong. A Day To Remember and the tour organizers asked For Year Strong to change times so that they could perform longer. Four Year Strong refused and started an angry rivalry. This two songs are written about that fight between Four Year Strong and A Day To Remember.

I'm liking the new stuff quite a bit, both this and "All I Want", but I have to admit I'm quite disappointed lyrically. Not to say "Homesick" was a lyrical masterpiece by any means, but it definitely felt personal and heartfelt. Both songs released thus far just sound like generic rock lyrics, to be honest.

This song is about Four Years Strong. They have a strong rivalry because they have very similar sounds. I know this for a fact because Kevin Skaff is a friend of mine and I heard it from him and Jeremy on the bus one day before a show. So there ya go. SUCK IT Four Years Strong!

“This song is, uh, directly about people that kind of look at being in a band in our whole lifestyle that we live and they look at it is like a competition, you know, kind of thing. ‘Cause that’s just not the kind of band we are and I realize that we’re all trying to make a living out of it and stuff, but you know. I mean, the way we look at things is we do what we wanna do and we don’t really care what anyone thinks, we’re just really fortunate that kids like what we do, you know, so, I mean, we just kind of do what we want and we try to have a good time like when we play shows, with what we do on stage and stuff like that and uh, sometimes a lot of these more serious bands don’t take kindly to that and, I don’t know, we had some run-ins with people and we’re just trying to, you know, be nice and you know, be good people on the road, just trying to hang out. People take shit way too seriously and you know, that’s what that song’s about. You do you, I’ll do me, ‘cause I’m happy and they’re not.”
