Marisol

Marisol is a girl who has a dream of being something, her family/ friends keep putting her down saying she wont make it. its useless, she probably has low-self eestem because of all that

She held her face while she cried And she told herself, girl you'll be just fine (She cries at night but everyday she tells her you'll be fine.) She doesn't know just where she belongs But for now she's got to run (she feels like an outcast at school because she wants to make something for herself. she just needs to get out of the town thats to small for her dream.) She kept her dreams inside For so long, for so long There's nowhere left to hide She's held on for so long and (she never told anyone about her dreams after all the negavtive comments and crap she was getting. she tired of it, there's no where else for her to stay.)

She picks up all the scattered pieces of her life She lifts up Marisol, Marisol, Marisol take flight (She picks up torn parts of her life and feels she is ready to leave.) She finds that all she needs is in her heart She lifts up Marisol, Marisol, Marisol take flight (she finds that she doesn't need to support of her family or friends. all the strength she needs in inside.) And all the world is hers tonight Marisol, it'll all be alright (she feels on top of the world. everything is alright now)

With nothing but her pocket change She makes her move, she heads to the train (she decides to run and takes what little she has left and hits to the trains, she runs away.) She's staring at her shoes and Fighting off negative thoughts in her brain (she's debating wiether or not running away is a good idea, and thinking that what her family and friends said were true that she wasn't going to make it big time.) Counting to ten inside she discovers another Way to put it out of her mind and recover, recover (she finds a way to loose all the negavtive thoughts and focus again on her goal.)

Marisol got away, got away Marisol got it her way, her way (she successfully got to where she was going. she got away from her old town and made to wherever (L.A, NY? maybe?) And she's searching through The faces of the crowded street She's doesn't know a single soul But she feels so free (she looks around and doesnt see any one she knows. she feels so carefree and happy that maybe she finally can reach her dream, she's just happy that she made.) And her spirit and her courage are all she needs And she flies, and she flies, oh oh oh and (she finally gets her dream come true and she had strength and courage to to it. the whole world is her now.)

Emily osment sings it beutifully. i've been though something like that but i never ran away. i just wanted to belong.

I think it's about domestic violence, (for now she's got to run), (nothing but her pocket change because maybe her abuser had control over the money), (nowhere left to hide), (Marisol got away).
