Blessed With a Curse Lyrics
Ever since this began, I was blessed with a curse.
And for better or for worse I was born into a hearse.
I know I said my heart beats for you. I was lying girl, it beats for two.
Because I got your love and I got these vices.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you.
Ever since this began, I was blessed with a curse.
And for better or for worse I was born into a hearse.
I know I said my heart beats for you. I was lying girl.
I've been lying to you...
Everything I touch turns to stone.
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me on my own.
Everything I touch turns to stone.
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me on my own.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you. (4x)
Because everything I touch turns to stone.
So wrap your arms around me, and leave me, I can't hold on.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you.
Take back every word I've said, every word I've said.
Take back every word I've said, ever said to you. (2x)

I think it's about not feeling worthy of someones love. Im guessing probably Amanda. He loves her but he also has "vices", probably drugs and alcohol, and he feels like they are the two greatest loves in his life. I guess someone struggling with addiction would feel pretty conflicted over the people they love and their vices. I think the whole "Everything I touch turns to stone" part just emphasises that he feels like he's not worthy of love, especially if he has been lying or misleading to that person about his vices.
"Everything I touch turns to stone"
The song from my view, is about a past relationship with a girl, this line meaning everyone he ever loved, changed on him, they were once full of life and then they develop no feelings for him in return as if turning dull, not caring..lifeless as in turning to stone.
"So wrap your arms around me, and leave me on my own"
Meaning, yeah tell me you love me, embrace me with your words, make me develop these feelings for you, so that you can eventually leave me.
"Take back every word I've said, ever said to you
He regrets what happened, I think the whole song in general means he has a curse and never is going to find love.

I don't know about the song in general, there's a lot of different interpretations that could be had, but..

This is quite possibly my favourite one-line lyric of all time. My interpretation of that lyric is that he's basically saying he cannot trust himself with others emotionally, and it's pretty much just declaring his distaste for himself. Those who get close to him get hurt, and he doesn't like it, but he can't seem to control it. (possibly because of...

"Everything I touch turns to stone" - What I mentioned before, everyone who gets close to him eventually becomes ruined/emotionally dead/hurt etc.
"So wrap your arms around me and leave me on my own" he's saying to the person (probably a 'significant other') that he knows he will be the death of her emotionally, but he can't control how much he wants her. By getting close to him, she will get hurt, and subsequently "leave (him) on (his) own", but he doesn't have it in him to leave her.
With this interpretation, I guess I could say that the line "take back every word I said, ever said to you" is his attempt to save or protect her from him. He loves her, but he wants her to believe otherwise to protect her from his ways.
Sorry for talking so much about this lyric, but I think about it a lot, and I love the lyric sooo much, so I just like that there's a small forum where people are voicing their opinions on it :)
I've always thought this song was about Oli being in love with a girl but he's also addicted to drugs. I feel like the whole album is about drug addiction, so many things stand out to me that make it obvious.
Since the first time I listened to this song, I thought about eating disorders. Because it's something that happened to me every time I started a relationship, like if the disorders fucks everything up. Like if you should make it stop for the sake of the relationship because it's ruining it, but you also feel like it's part of you and don't want to get rid of it.
It seems like I'm the only one who thinks like this...
I know some people that thinks the same way. No one is/should ever be alone

Whoa, no comments, really?! this is one of my favorites off the new album, its AMAZING, dont know why though. i also have no idea, what it means... maybe having to keep all you memories, bad and good, about a past relationship or something?
BMTH is my favorite band of all time. Each album has it's own original sound, their newest album being my favorite.
What I get out of this song is that he made a big mistake that he greatly regrets, but he can't get rid of it and ever since that, he can't do anything right. ---> "everything I touch turns to stone."
That's just what I get out of it. Every meaning people come up with has flaws to the lyrics. I already know mine. The only way to really know is to ask BMTH.
Does anyone notice faint talking at the start of the song? It's way to static to make out, even on high volume. Anyone know why it's there, or better, what is being said? From what I could make out, vaguely, I heard something about the compassions of man and something about Jesus sacrificing himself...but I think that's wrong.
wow no comments? this song is the fuckin bitch anal fuckin bomb, and im not over reacting!!!!! :)
He regrets being mean to the person he loves the most and lying to 'em.
Heard this song today for the first time. It's fascinating. I am a lyrics hound, so lyrics matter to me. And these are definitely interesting (and I really like the song in its entirety). He believes he loves someone and he believes he loves his vices. He's a fatalist. He defeats himself before he begins, blaming his inability to either have or sustain a relationship on his vices. He believes they are a part of who he is (innate). He also appears to relish in the idea that he is "cursed," that he chooses to give in to temptation (for women; drugs; booze; cheating; whatever). He wants her to dump him now because he either fears or knows that his vices will eventually be the death of the relationship. He simply cannot hold on to the life of lies he's living so it's best to end things rather than step up to the plate and acknowledge the way of life he's chosen (and attempt to stop acting the fool:).
