Ok lets begin! The angels in the song is his ex telling him hes dead to her. The first verse is saying time is going too fast to handle."I see you standing there but your're already gone." He is also trying to tell himself its over and its his fault. "Am I a dead man now left living with the blame?" In the second verse the line - "With all these books around and we ain't got two words to say." The books represent the stuff they know about each other and the reason they loved each other. The chorus is about him realising its over and if hes dead to her hes dead cos no one eles loves him :^/.

It's about being in a fling relationship and knowing it, knowing it will end, when you're feelings for that someone are obviously more than their feelings for you and you know they're going to leave you for someone else like an ex. Pretty good song IMO!
