Chasing The Rapture

For anyone who is unsure of the meaning of this song, the 'Rapture' is tenet of Christianity, a hypothetical future event involving the return of Christ and the destruction/end of the world. This song is about people who quite literally are 'chasing the rapture', praying for the destruction which they believe will cleanse the world. This is most common among Evangelical Christians. The band rejects this idea and assert that we must admit our error/crimes and save ourselves. Furthermore, the band is calling these people out as cowards and telling them to be careful what they wish for.

Here's the lyrics... Sorry if there is like one or two mistakes, I'm pretty sure these are correct as I listened to the song about a hundred time. But I believe it's about how we, as humanity, rely on prayer and faith to free us from our sins, and while we are doing that, the world is going to shit. And how we need to wise up and realize what we are doing before it's too late.

I can't make out what the very first part of the song is, but I'm 99% sure that it isn't "who put words". It sounds like a single word to me (most lyrics sites have it listed as "putrid", but that doesn't sound right to me, and they're all copied and pasted from the same original type-up of the lyrics. They all have the exact same mistakes lol)

I just can't figure out what that word is. I make out an "ed" sound, so it's probably a verb-based adjective, but I can't find any words that sound right.
