Ride Into Obsession Lyrics
Come, I show you the end
You're damned
Cause noone can defy me
Just watch these maddened creatures
Like you the all once reached out
A war to win
But I'm gonna burn this vision down
Call me the father of lies
Just watch these saddened creatures
They've turned you into their savior
You hold your ground
Until your last breath
You'll twist, then turn
And now you're falling down
The battle rages on
And forever and ever
The wheel will turn
Let ages come and go
The wheel will turn now
The wheel will turn
Another ride into obsession
I am reborn
The wheel will turn now
And I am driven to obsession
All these dying men
Try to understand
They all followed the sign
It's a cycle's end
There's no hope
For a while
From the ashes arise
Can't save her
Enjoy the flames
So precious, so pure
And you try
You're sure to fail
And madness
Is the price you've to pay
Unholy grounds
Witness your last breath
The cycle ends
And you're stumbling
The battle will go on
And forever and ever
It's raging on
Let ages come and go
The wheel will turn now
The wheel will turn
Another ride into obsession
I am reborn
The wheel will turn now
And I am driven to obsession
Through the flames you'll see me
You'll be mine, believe me
This is the moment I long for
Wake up, there's a storm to face
And right now while the land lies bleeding
It's me, I conquer your soul
Still I'll be on my way
Oh, light, let me out of here
I pray
And over and over and over again
There is no beginning
No end
This war, it still goes on
And forever and ever
I will return
Let ages come and go
The wheel will turn now
The wheel will turn
Another ride into obsession
I am reborn
The wheel will turn now
And I am driven to obsession
Light, so serene
True source reign over me
There's no end and
There's no beginning
You will never be alone
You're damned
Cause noone can defy me
Just watch these maddened creatures
Like you the all once reached out
A war to win

This is a Wheel of Time based song. The song is almost certainly from the point of view of Ishmael/Moridin based on the lines "Call me the Father of Lies" and "True Source reign over me". That and the Dark One is not reborn. It is about how the Light can never will the war between it and the Shadow. If Rand wins, eventually both his soul and Ishmael will be reborn in another age and the fighting begins again.
I'm not sure if the obsession is the war, or Ishmael's goal to help the Dark One "break the Wheel".
Lews Therin and Ishamael were basically arch-nemesis in the age of legends when the war broke out and Ishamael eventually went mad the old fashioned way and become obsessed with the thought that he himself was constantly spun back into the wheel to fight with Lews Therin/Rand. Though, It's perfectly possible that a new thread is chosen to fight against Lews Therin on behalf of the shadow. He spends most of the books obsessed with either destroying rand, or how he could if he wanted to/was allowed to. If the song is written late enough, Rand and...

He spends most of the books obsessed with either destroying rand, or how he could if he wanted to/was allowed to. If the song is written late enough, Rand and Ishamael share a sort of link since his fight with sammael in which they see each other in the dream world fairly often and share physical sensations like Rand's naussea at touching the source. Kind of an artificial obsession as it never lets them forget each other for a moment. In the end, the obsession would seem to be either Lews Therin or his position as Nae'Bliss (which at one point caused him to represent himself as if he was the Dark One itself) which he seems to covet highly. Better to rule in hell than serve in heaven kind of mentality.
heh, just realized that the line is 'now YOU ride into obsession'.... so it's probably not even Ishmael they're referring to so much as Rand's increasing focus on Tarmon Gai'don and pushing out all things that could prevent him from succeeding, including the notion of living past it.

You are right about it being a "Wheel of time" based song. But not about the point of view. Why would Ishamael say: "Still I'll be on my way Oh, light, let me out of here I pray"?
Nope, the point of view probably vary from Rand Al'Thor's, Ba'alzamon and possibly Ishamael aswell. It may be from Rand's alone, merely including come comments that Ishamael and/or Ba'alzamon direct at him(I find this the most likely alternative).
