Dead In The Water Lyrics

Blessed are he who are speaks the word
Grateful that we can lead the herd
Dollars signs in the faithful eyes
The anti-saint, sunday disguise
You’re just a faker
No miracle maker
Holy behavior
Wont make you our savior

If we want a martyr
We’ll come and find you
Come and find you
Done before you started
You’re dead in the water
Walk on father out to sea
You’re done before you started
You’re dead in the water

Blessed are he who sees the word
Holiness so well rehearsed
Dollar signs in the faithful eyes
Anti fates on day disguised
You’re just a faker
No miracle maker
Holy behavior
Wont make you our savior

If we want a martyr
We’ll come and find you
Come and find you
Done before you started
You’re dead in the water
Walk on father out to sea
You’re done before you started
You’re dead in the water

The water
The water
The water

Money made messiahs
You’re televised to tell your lies
Not another martyr
You’re dead in the water

If we want a martyr
We’ll come and find you
Come and find you
Done before you started
You’re dead in the water
Walk on father out to sea
You’re done before you started
You’re dead in the water

You’re dead in the water
You’re dead in the water
You’re dead in the water

I might have gotten the "Anti Fates on day disguise". but i think its "If we want a martyr" it sounds more like it in the song. This song is also straight forward. It's about the televangelists, preachers and priests who only want to preach the word of God to make money. And he's telling them that they see through his or her charade and even if they are "doing good" in the eyes of their congregation. The dead in the water part, I think he's challenging them to act like Jesus, and walk on water, because they will only drown. That they aren't our messiah and have what's coming to them.

It's mostly right, but I think it's: (Corrections are capped)

Blessed are he who are speaks the word PRAY FOR THE WEAK AND LEAD THE HERD Dollars signs in the faithful eyes THE ANTI-SAINT, SUNDAY DISQUISE You’re just a faker No miracle maker Holy behavior Wont make you our savior

I would have to agree with the lyric corrections, but would also like to add "pray for the weak and lead the herd" sounds much like "prays for the weak and leaves the hurt," which would have much more of an impact. "Televangelists" prey on the weak and leave them with their unresolved issues. Often times the people who make contributions/donations are very poor and suffer some sort of ailment with great faith in god and hope that "god's messenger" could somehow bestow upon them some sort of reprieve or miracle. However, they are dependant upon man to cure...

its "not another martyr" not "modern of a martyr"

also it's "anti-saint, sunday disguise" not "anti fates on day disguise"

its in the lyric booklet.

thts all i see for corrections at any rate.

this song is obviously against televangelists that use their shows for money over message

well not completely over teleevangelists, but stuff that falls along false, holy behaviour

Thanks for the corrections. I posted those before the Cd book came out.

Think this song has something to do with the 666?? Like cause who ever you is in this song is pretending to be a messiah or savior. And they are evidently lieing or faking.

I don't have the booklet, but some here are some things that I can tell by listening to the song (and by referencing a couple rules of grammar):

Dollars signs > Dollar signs (singular)

Wont make you our savior > Won't make you our savior (apostrophe)

Done before you started > Done before you've started (grammar rule, but I'm 95% sure that 'you've' is the word used in the song as well) [also applies to "You're done before you started"]

Blessed are he who sees the word > Wretched are he who sees the word ('Blessed' is used in the very first line,[are he who SPEAKS the word], but the second time is 'Wretched' [are he who SEES the word])

You’re televised to tell yours lies > You’re televised to tell your lies ('yours' should be 'your')

POSSIBLE corrections (if anyone has the lyrics booklet, feel free to validate/refute any of these)

Holiness are well rehearsed > Holiness so well rehearsed ('are well rehearsed' doesn't really make sense, and, in my opinion, it doesn't even sound like they say it in the song. "so well rehearsed" is what I hear, and it would make more sense,)

Walk on father out to sea > Walk on farther out to sea (It sounds like that to me - especially in the last part of the song. It changes the meaning of the line, but It makes a bit more sense to me)

Money made messiahs > Money-made messiahs (Grammar rule: i.e., "'messiahs' became messiahs for money", not "The money physically created the messiahs)

Again, I'm not sure about those last ones, but it's worth checking if anyone has the official lyric booklet handy

Lyric Correction

i don't want to see your gramatical corrections. the site is about interpretting lyrics.

Notice how there is a "Lyric Correction" menu option, which I very clearly selected. It's even highlighted in bright orange letters for you. This sight is primarily about interpretations, but anything in the dropdown menu has an intended purpose as well. They weren't just put there out of boredom.

Slight mistakes and variations in lyrics can make a world of difference in the overall meaning. You should be aware of that before you try to interpret anything.
