Well the suface meaning is basically that he's slept with this chick and he doesn't want her to just walk away without saying goodbye in the morning, he wants to make it a relationship. But..... If you look deeper you can maybe infer that he's having a dream about a girl he loves, and he doesn't want to wake up, ("I feel the sun creeping up like tick-tock/I'm trying to keep you in my head...") and when he's experiencing reality, which he perceives as a lie, he wants to go back to sleep to revist his love. So maybe he's denying the truth here. ("Let's run away from these lies/back to yesterday safe tonight")

This song reminds me of my recent ex. I miss her so much right now. She just left me and I'm kinda hoping she comes back later in the future.

This is what I think about this song. I think they both got into some argument the day before and the girl wants to leave him. Of course the guy doesn't want the girl to leave and he's hoping she'll still be there the next morning.

Also, it could be about a guy who just met a girl and they spend a day together having fun. He's afraid that she'll leave the next morning and he's wondering if she has the same feelings for the guy.

I agree with lyricpop7, this song is about him dreaming about the girl he loves that he lost. If you watch the video it is even more obvious that is what he is talking about. Really like this song, and I can completely identify with it, I dream of my ex and I don't want to wake up from it sometimes.

I agree with the idea of the guy talking about a girl who he's met and they've slept together and the night was incredible etc. and he's worried that in the morning things will change (like things so often do in the morning light)and he wants her to know that it doesn't matter what light it's in, he wants her to be with him. Perhaps the girl has a tendancy to run from commitments and he's saying that if she has to run, then he'll run with her. Maybe it's like, if talking about it makes the girl scared then they'll just run and not talk about why they're running. He'll do what it takes to keep her with him...sort of? i'm not sure how clear that was, it's so hard to explain the sort of feeling this song triggers in me.

I, myself feel that the girl thinks that spending a night with him feels like a fling for her and she wants to get away ASAP in the morning. While for the gentleman he feels like this is the beginning of a relationship & as soon as he realizes that she doesn't want to commit, he wishes that he can extend time in order to keep her with him.
