I ache, it's opening my soul (My soul)
I ache, it's opening

Speak what we feel
And not what we ought to say
Well, I'm forever young
And you're forever you
So much to say
But nothing to hide
Oh oh oh oh oh
Please open it all

Soft voice
That whispers lies
Who do I lay beside?
Soft voice
Soft voice
That whispers lies

Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool
Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool

Did you count how many times
The words left my mouth?
So many times I was pressed
On top
You never pushed me off
As much as it hurts to admit
You just

Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool
Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool

No matter how hard you'll try
These words won't save me
Please stop
To mind your space
Soft hands that would ruin lives
And eyes that would burn
Fall to your knees

You pretend not to see our problems
Because they form inside you

Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool
Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool
Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool
Well, I don't want to see it anymore
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore
But I won't be played a fool

well to start im almost positive he says "wake" or "awake" Sexually driven relationship, love driven relationship, Yet practicality serves as a barrier the one in love doesnt see any reason why not and the one being loved can... Classic story, it "sings" to our own emotions

and as far as the song goes and its meaning... Being as it is open for interpretation She loves him and he loves her She doesn't have a handle on her own emotions and doesn't know what she wants He does, he wants her regardless, unconditionally.

"Speak what we feel, and not what we ought to say. Well, I'm forever young and you're forever you."

He knows he cant change her mind... It is up to her... But he is there

"So much to say but nothing to hide. Ohh, please open it all. Soft voice, that whispers lies. Who do I lay beside? Soft voice, soft voice, that whispers lies."

She loves him more than anything as well at times but something holds her back from letting ita ll out from letting go of the boundary that wont let her be his unconditionally, Is she holding out for something better? Does she think his moral stature is flawed or even fears the disaproval of a parent? She tells him she loves him she whispers sweet nothings but then she goes against it. Laying beside him she does these things... showing maybe that he is in love and she in lust? Does he even know her?

"Well, I don't want to see it anymore. Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore. But I won't be played a fool. Well, I don't want to see it anymore. Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore. But I won't be played a fool."

Chorus, Hes trying to cope... tell yourself something enough times and you start to believe it, He loves her but its getting him nowhere, burn me once shame on you but burn me twice shame on me. As well he knows he has her to some extent though he knows she will always want him and will run back to him given any problems arise with her new lover, but does he want to be the fallback? The fool?

"Did you count how many times the words left my mouth? So many times I was pressed on top. You never pushed me off. As much as it hurts to admit, you just..."

Graphic imagery, During the act of making love, "I Love You" were the words coming out of his mouth she loved it just as much as he did and does... him pressed on top her not pushing him off

"No matter how hard you'll try These words won't save me Please stop, slow your speech. Soft hands that would ruin lives, and eyes that would burn. Fall to your knees."

She cant console him this is his decision... well at least the way he feels, shit he cant stop it if he tried because he's trying and not succeeding. He doesnt want her to run her mouth anymore because it makes no sense... She wants him, carnally needs him, ruining his life with her soft hands, he adores her and her eyes that burn... as she is (on her knees)...

"You pretend not to see our problems, because they form inside you."

She needs to fix herself/figure out what she wants stop holding out for somthing better and fighting her own feelings because it is him that she wants but like mentioned before has some type of obstacle or personal secret reason holding her back. They are "their" problems because they have something something strong and thats why they put themselves through it all. but as it leads into the next chorus: I told you so/you want and or need me/but you wont admit it and I need to move on...

Just my opinion on this Rant by Jonny Craig. Tell me what you think and I dont expect as much as I wrote because that takes some time but your input is just as worthy and credible as mine, I just feel this way about it... maybe biased by personal exp. as ewll as listening to all them other songs mr craig has put out there and if you havnt already check out his solo material and dance gavin dance its worth your time...

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Led Zeppelin
This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
