Tailored sheets to fix this dirty bed
For once this dirt won't come all off
It can't be pushed aside
The wind is blowing through closed doors with shadows
Dancing in the hall
Now hit the floor
Crawl to the side
We've all made better moves
Despite the slowing of our feet

For once lets leave the dreaming
To someone else

Our time has slipped away
We're sinking faster, faster, no more play
Get ready for the catch
I'm at the next step
Waiting for a year

All at once
It leaves you breathless
With next to nothing but open hands
Reach out, hold on tight
I know it hurts but keep trying
And with your luck this won't be over quick
Out of the blue it strikes you
What's left to catch but the fear of letting go?
(The fear of letting go)

I'm biting down
The stress gets harder now
The mood is let down
Let it play for the last time
Take this last second

For once don't be so weak
Back up the feelings that you claim now
Fall deeper into a world
That you can't explain

For once don't be so weak
I see the mistake and it's you
Don't try another line
I know the truth
And let it save you when
Nothing else will
I will let it save you when
Nothing else will

(Let It Save You)

The mood is let down,
Let it play for the last time
Take this last second to know

We know who does it best
Wind is blowing through closed doors with shadows
Dancing in the hall
Now hit the floor,
Crawl to the side,
We've all made better moves
Despite the slowing of our feet

Let hate save you
When nothing else will

I know the truth
It won't save you

Jonny has a really good voice, but it works a lot better with some screaming.

    Out of the book.

Tailored sheets, to fit this dirty bed, for once the dirt won't come all off I can’t be pushed aside.

Wind is blowing thru closed doors With shadows dancing in the hall Now hit the floor, crawl to the side, We've all made better moves despite our slowing feet

For Once, lets leave the dreaming to someone else, Our time has slipped away, We’re sinking faster, faster no more play, Set aside for the catch, I'm at the next step, waiting for our year

And all at once it leaves you breathless, With next to nothing, but open hands.

Reach out, hold on tight, I know it hurts but keep trying, And with your luck, This won't be over quick Out of the blue it strikes you What’s left to catch but the fear of letting go?

And bite down, The stress get harder now, The mood is let down, Let it play for the last time, take this last second to know who's walking out.

For once don’t be so weak, Back up the feelings that you claim now, Fall deeper into a world, that you can’t explain. For once don’t be so weak, I see the mistake that is you, don't try another line, I know the truth

Let hate save you, when, nothing else will, Oh, let it save you, when, nothing else will. Let it save you.

The mood is let down, Let it play for the last time, take this last second to know who's walking out

We know who does it best, Wind is blowing thru closed doors With shadows dancing in the hall Now hit the floor, crawl to the side, We've all made better moves despite our slowing feet

Let hate save you when nothing else will.

I know the truth, it won’t save you.

some of the wording/words are going to be slightly different than whats in the book. what was written for the song and what is tracked are sometimes different due to a producer's thoughts on what fits better etc...

just maybe an explanation for the differences

Tailored sheets, to fix this dirty bed, For once this ___, I can’t be pushed aside.

When the glowing ?took us? towards the shadows, Dancing in ?a row?, Now hit the floor, crawl to the side, ?Withholding? better moves, despite the slowing of our feet.

Next, let’s leave the feeling to someone else, Our time has slipped away, We’re sinking faster, faster __, Get ready for the catch, ???

And all at once it leaves you breathless, With next to nothing, but I’ll be there.

Reach out, hold on tight, I know it hurts but keep trying, And with your luck, ?This will be over quick? ??? What’s left to catch but the fear of letting go?

And bite down, The stress get harder now, The mood is let down, Let it play for the last time, __ this last second ___.

For once don’t be so weak, Back up the feelings that you claim now, Fall deeper into a world, that you can’t explain. For once don’t be so weak, I see the mistake that is you, Don’t cry, I never lied, I never ___

Let it save you, when, nothing else will, Oh, let it save you, when, nothing else will. Let it save you.

The mood is let down, Let it play for the last time, ?Save? this last second, to know.

We know who does it best, When this glowing ?took us? towards the shadows, Dancing in ?a row? Not hit the floor, crawl to the side, ?Withholding? better moves, despite the slowing of our feet, Let it save you when nothing else will.

I know the truth, it won’t save you.

So yeah, that's what I've got. Very likely there are mistakes. But yeah.

Agreed. It's so hard to make out EXACTLY what he says.

    after listening to the songs

at the beginning you can CLEARLY hear the s-noise when he says "fit" so i still think its fix, regardless of the book

and on "Set aside for the catch"

you can also easily hear the g and not s, and i can't hear aside at all i clearly hear ready

looks like their wrong on their own lyrics :(

and then when it says "despite our slowing feet"

he says alot more then that, so i think its "despite the slowing of our feet"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
