The Sky Under The Sea

This song is about admitting, "I am the selfish machine." It's about being selfish with love and taking what you want without regret. The selfish machine refers to the animal inside all of us that no one ever wants to admit is there. I consider all of our evil thoughts and desires that we are ashamed of to be perfectly natural. We are all humans and no one is perfect, despite how morally good someone may think he or she is.

i'd make soo much more sense if they said "and someday i'll DIVE, close both my eyes..." rather than "and someday I'll drive, close both my eyes." but i don't know! it just goes more with the theme of swimming and the ocean and the sea. :o

What I get from this so far is the guy (or Vic if it's personal) wants the girl back, reflects on the better times and wants a bit of romance with her. The problem is, she's manipulative, mean, and uses him a lot.

This basically sums up the album and the song. She's selfish, heartless, and all he wants is to be with her.

I'm most definitely sure he does not say "And did you call me last night just cause you couldn't get away?" .. he says " couldn't get laid " .. I don't care what the album says, he's lying haha.

Kind of thought it was ultimately about suicide BECAUSE of the way she was treating him. He couldn't take it anymore so he kills her and himself. I believe that the peaceful paino and under water sounds at the very end of the song play a big part in indicating thats its suicide drowning.

In my opinion, vic basically talks about how he loves this girl, but she is selfish and only cares about herself and what she wants, but he admits deep down inside, he is also a selfish machine . I love this song, its one of my favorites c:
