Fur Lined Lyrics

I can feel it taking hold
Now I am an animal
Now I am a chemical
Once again
And you caught me through the crack
Everything is right on track
I am never coming back
Again and again and again
Everything
Everything is tickling
Is this really happening?
Again and again and again

Close enough to feel the flame
I can push it through the pain
And it was everything
Again and again and again

I don't want to lose control
I am just an animal
Just a fucking chemical
Once again and again and again

Everything
Everything is tickling
Is this really happening?
Again and again and again

Everything
Everything is tickling
I keep coming back again
Again and again

i like how it sounds similar to only yet different enough to be its own song and be a standout on their 6 song release

i think the song is about drugs abuse. when she sings "everything is echoing", she is talking about the hallucinations caused by the drug she's using, and then, when she asks herself "is this really happening?", she's lost the perception of what is real and what isn't. and of course, we may talk that there's a will to self destruction, because she says she is "never coming back" but still, in the end of the song, she admits that "i keep coming back again", that is, her purpose in using drugs, her purpose to destroy herself, is useless, because she can't fulfil it. doubtlessly, this is the best song of their EP.

It's about animal exploitation. Each track on the album is a way to "destroy angels"

sounds like a deflowering

My Opinion

Pretty sure it's about pregnancy.

Echoing could be a sonogram reference or a reference to a test they do on the baby's heartbeat.

When you're pregnant you do discover quite how animal the process of reproduction is.

'everything is right on track' - the baby is measuring as it should.

'this is really happening' - it's amazing how much of a surprise this can be, even when the pregnancy is planned.

and 'pushing through the pain' - labour reference that I think speaks for itself :)

There's probably more layers to it than that, but I think that's the general starting point. At the end of the day she was pregnant when they were putting this CD together, so I take that as evidence for my argument :)

I always thought that this song relates to Trent Reznor's video campaign for PETA. You should see the video. If I am right, then “everything is echoing” refers to pain being suffered by one animal is the same pain being suffered by other animal next to it, or at the other end of the slaughterhouse. Furry animals get chemical treatment, when trying to find out if a toxin is dangerous enough for humans. In fur and animal meat processing facilities animals get skinned, some while still alive.

My Opinion

Although all songs are open to interpretation, here's one:

I would say it could be about falling in love in general, but the tone doesn't seem happy at all. It's simply about those times when even though you're with someone, you find someone else attractive. It's not something you control, it's just an "animal" urge, a "chemical" response. The singer has slipped and has been "caught" but doesn't plan to pursue a relationship since they've got "everything on track" meaning a life planned out.

The rest of the song is introspection--why does this keep situation repeating and "echoing?" So it probably isn't the first time this has happened nor the last.

My Interpretation

@o0ghost0o - yes, agree 100%, seems pretty obvious to me and living it ))
