Without Morals Lyrics
Tread the path of sin and sorrow
Swimming to the wreck
If you slowly pull the noose you choose
To walk as if you're dead
Choke until you until you cannot feel
The pressure never ends
Without morals we wither
We might as well be gone
I believe in the other world
We cannot right our wrongs
If you lie to me, you slander me
This is why I hate you
Your petulant seed is a dying breed
This why I hate you
Scream ... into the grave
Unrelenting and unrepentant
Suffer guilt in chains
So until you cannot you die
The lines refuse to bend
Without morals we wither
We might as well be gone
I believe in the other world
We cannot right our wrongs
If you lie to me, slander me
This is why I hate you
Your petulant seed is a dying breed
This why I hate you
You lie to me, you slander me
This is why I hate you
You lie to me, you slander me
This is why I hate
Roll the dice
The plot device
Is the fallacy in disguise
Choke until you cannot feel
The pressure never dies
Lie to me, slander me
This is why I hate you
Your petulant seed is a dying breed
This why I hate you
You lie to me, you slander me

This is a tough one, but for me the song meaning can be quite clear: it is to deal with the struggle of living in a set of morals that can be completely wrong as an individual, but understand that every society needs a minimum set of morals values to structure order and justice for all. So the matter is not to deny morality at all, but to create another one more fitting to the current needs, wether they are economic and or religious, as seen in many times in history.
Title says it all. Morals are what makes us human. This album is BTW my least favorite lyrically.
i'm also not very fond of this album lyrically. i like the "without morals we wither..." part but otherwise, this is a sub par nevermore song on a sub par album.
