Kill the ghost that hide in your soul
Rock-n-roll
rock-n-roll
rock-n-roll
Wipe the blood from your halo
Over moon that you hide your shadow’s pride
Stand in the face of the ugly crowd
Or who’s hunt you down but you can’t hide
Exterminate the future
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
rock-n-roll
Whispers of the future
Broken knife in your skull
Weapon in your style
Exterminate the future
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
You can’t run from the future can’t change the past not that fast
You can’t run from the future can’t change the past not that fast
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
rock-n-roll
Rock-n-roll
rock-n-roll
rock-n-roll
Over moon that you hide your shadow’s pride
Stand in the face of the ugly crowd
Or who’s hunt you down but you can’t hide
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
rock-n-roll
Broken knife in your skull
Weapon in your style
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
You can’t run from the future can’t change the past not that fast
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
Kill the ghost that hides in your soul
rock-n-roll

No comments for this song yet? I really like this song, and it's one of my favs from the album. It's an uptempo song with riffs and a sound that reminds me of classic The Cult (the band Ian Astbury fronts). From the guitar riff at the intro, to the 2 guitars during the rest of the song, it's a kick-ass tune. Plus, the guitar solo 3/4 of the way through the song is awesome, and leads perfectly into the chorus. Great guitar work from Slash om this track.
As for a meaning, I think this might be one of the more ambiguous songs on the album. It's definitely a song to get you hyped-up and feeling some energy. I think he's saying that we need to face our fears. The fear you feel deep inside isn't real, but more like an illusion that needs to be destroyed in order to move forward. The fear can also destroy you, but you can't escape it, you can't run forever, and you can't hide. So you must fight it, there's no other choice. For me, the part where he says "Rock-n-roll" is like saying "let's do this" or "time to kick some ass".
I think it's about getting over your weaknesses, getting past the voice in your head that pulls you down. Like if you have, say, anorexia, it's like a ghost that's constantly with you and inside you, holding you back.
I think the lyrics are fucking retarded, to be honest. Great song, though, and the songwriting is good (rhythm, rhyme, etc.), but I hate the lyrics.
And I'm the one who posted them.
