I didn't want to go
Go back and look for you
But it's a heartless drug
I'm addicted to

And when I drive that road
And start to feel that chill
I think I see your face
Do you come here still?

Those were the times and these were the places
Your love was so good
And now that I'm here I suddenly find that
I'm tumbling backward

I'm back to where I was before
Dreaming of glory and your love
And now I'm lying on your floor
Crashed on the surface of your love

The chemicals react
The molecules collide
The poison works it's way
Somewhere down inside

When we were young
I really believed love would never leave us
But time has a knack of pulling the rug out from underneath us

And nothing matters anymore
I'm still a victim of your love
And now I'm banging on your door
Time rolling backwards with your love
Over and over with your love

I know they're only ghosts and memories that I'm clutching at
And maybe I'm reaching back for something I never had
Still it seems so real to me
These ragged threads that lead me back to you

(Losing my mind waiting for you)

I'm back to where I was before
Time rolling backwards with your love
And now I'm lying on your floor
Crashed on the surface of your love

And where are all the dreams we had
Fractured and frozen with your love
You put a spell upon me that
Can never be broken with your love
Nowhere to run to but your love
Over and over with your love

Keane was so kind as to make a digital lyric booklet (with Richard's lovely pictures!), so if you're not sure of any part of the song, now you've got help!

Lyric CorrectionThe end lyrics I believe are:

"I'm back to where I was before
    Tumbling backwards with your love
And now I'm laying on your floor
Crashed on the surface of your love
And all other dreams we had
Fractured and frozen with your love

You put a spell upon me there
Could never be broken in your love
Oh where to run to be your love
Over and over with your love"

Gorgeous song, my favourite from the EP :D

Lyric Correction"Maybe I'm REACHING back for
    Something I never had"

Methinks this is one of the best songs on Night Train. I like Tim's singing!
And something makes me think they're starting to sound more and more like Darren Hayes...

General CommentSong rocks!!! I saw them in concert, Tim did awesome.

Meaning of this song is fairly self-explanatory.

    Here's my interpretation...
Guy is still in love with a past love. After all this time, and dating he still compares all others to this one past love. He knows she has moved on and he should too but somehow cannot. So much time has past that he starts to think why is he still addicted to this one love...she must've put a spell on him. The best relationship he has had was with this one past love. He keeps tumbling backwards, because he cannot seem to get this person out of his head or get a relationship that was just as meaningful. Did he build this relationship up to more than it really was? Hence, why he states "still it seems so real to me"

General CommentGood track (maybe the best off the album) even though Tom's angelic voice is not being heard. A love song about a lost love perhaps (ie. "murdered and broken in your love") and wishing it was a present love (ie. "now I'm bangin' on your door"). One of my favorite bands...
