This song is soooooo Juturna, I love it. I think this song expresses Anthony's continual advice. The path of life is continuous throughout, but your perspective on the same things will change, like "we dont hear music exactly the same." Truly, when our brains operate at different speeds we don't hear songs the same way we think about them, they may seem faster or slower, but regardless, its still the same song. Same thing with life; its always the same song, but depending on your perspective, life can be any shape with that you want it to take.

I think he is frustrated with this, being forgetful, having his memory erased, meaning the constantly changing song forces you to forget the way life used to be previously to help embrace the way it is now. No one likes it, but it is generally necessary. I think they are trying to say it sucks that there are 100 more steps to take, but what else is there to do in life but enjoy all 100 of them?

One hundred steps away refers to the goals we set, how we're always crawling towards that victory day, and should we finally arrive at one, well, we will be heading towards another immediately.
