Sky Father Lyrics

I left this earth today
Didn't look back at my terrain
Sold my possessions at sea
Followed the fortune of destiny

I knelt before the king
Stared with wonder at what life may bring
And filled with confidence
I set upon my close legend
My close legend

Oh divine soldier, life-taker of this land
Oh divine soldier, life-taker will command
So do as you will

I traveled far and wide
A journey made with no compromise
And climbing port to peak
I took the passage of which you speak

I lay on sheets of gold
I stared in eyes that hold this world
And from each prophecy
I took my leave
My leave to be
My leave to be

Oh divine soldier, life-taker of this land
Oh divine soldier, life-taker will command
So do as you will

Oh do as you will
Please do as you will
Oh do as you will
And do as you will
Oh do as you will
Oh do as you will
Oh do as you will

Oh divine soldier, life-taker of this land
Oh divine soldier, life-taker will command
Divine soldier, life-taker of this land
Oh divine soldier, life-taker will command
So do as you will

I think the person saying these words is in love with someone and she risks losing her comfort zone. During her journey, she feels full and surrenders to him fully.

Oh divine soldier, life-taker of this land Oh divine soldier, life-taker will command So do as you will

life-taker because her old self dies as she goes deeper in love with him

this can also refer to a person leaving the province to find work in the city. she gives up everything in the province in search of greater fortune. she ends up with a 'shit' job with a boss who tends to 'kill' her (not literally) but drains her because of her job. she says in the end, 'So do as you will' meaning she is willing to follow commands because she knows that fortune is on the other side.

I think this song is about starting a new life at a compeltely different place. It can also be the start of a new era and the fact that things have to be given up in order to commence something new. Although this might be sad at times, but I love how the melody goes with the song and suggests that the positive facts and opportunities have to be taken into consideratoion rater than the bad things in life. Liking this band!
