"I wrote a lot of the instrumental of the song during the On Letting Go writing sessions but it never got messed with. It was one of the first instrumentals we pulled up to work on during the Blue Sky Noise writing sessions. We knew it was strong already but really wanted to add some insanity to it. That drum break stemmed from wanting to have parts where we could use auxiliary percussion and vocal chanting. We added that and the crazy guitar section at the same time. It really took the song to the next level. Then in the studio we had an idea to have the little kids screaming the chant with Anthony for a Pink Floyd “The Wall” effect. The words there are from a really immature young point of view too so I think it fits perfectly. “I don’t want excuses I don’t want apologies."

What Colin said about the construction of the song. The last part where he explains the chanting at 2:20 is awesome.

Any ideas what this song is about? Seems to be addressing some form of abandonment, or being left behind. And he doesnt want excuses or apologies for being abandoned?

i feel like this song is about someone who was abandoned by a loved one and its been years since they have last seen eachother and that person whos been abandoned see's the abandenor in a public place after so long and the abandenor acknowleges the abandond person as if it was normal but really the person who has been abandond is angry because its been so long. "dissapeared from public places never seen agian, how long has it been? how long has it been?!". notice the second time when Anthony Green sings "how long has it been?!" he sings it very angry and sad, which to me reflects on how that person is feeling.

i agree i think it's about being abandoned by a loved one i think that the "Disappeared from public places never seen again" part until the end is talking about the person just walking out of his life and then the first part especially "Your stolen memories will find you in the last place you would think to look. All the time that it took to locate, maybe it’ll just pass by you or rip right through your heart" is about how much it's hurt him but the person that left him feels no remorse for abandoning him and they're doing fine but he thinks surely he meant something to them to the point where one day they're gonna regret leaving him and feel terrible for not being there when he needed them

These lyrics are completely screwed. Not even the same song. Lyric poster is a complete fool.

i like circa survive, but i think they could benefit from a backup vocalist with a deeper voice than Anthony's (which shouldn't be hard to find). Regardless, it seems like a solid album, particularly instrumentally.

Goddamn, I fucking love this song so much.

This song looks like it's about a kidnapping, but that could just be me. I'm kind of in love with the new album.

I'm also pretty sure it's "I don't want excuses, I don't want apologetics".
