They Don't Call It The South For Nothing Lyrics

Make waves, make waves, I'm sea,
It's all you can take.
Come back, back down now, I'm drifting away.
Your ship's sunk. It's gone down, now your captain is dead.
Your saints become sailors, when my ocean is fed by these bloody waters, mark my words.
Come on.
When I said I'd fight back, I didn't say that I'd fight fair.
I said I'd fight back, I didn't say that I'd fight fair.
Salt your eyes.
Sleep with all the fishes.
The waves start the flood that's drowning yourself.
Broken, then we'll salt your eyes.
No wind, this sound.
Waves, make waves. Back down,
Stop drifting away. Come back, come back,
It's all you can take.
We'll pour salt in your eyes.
I said I'd fight back, I didn't say that I'd fight.

Aiight, meaning.

Gonna have to agree that the song is based on anger towards AA. More specifically, a kind of revenge warning towards the members.

"Make waves, makes waves, I'm sea" This is him inviting them to make trouble with him, the waves represent the trouble, and he's clearly the sea.

"Your ship's sunk it's gone down, now your captain is dead." I think that the ship is AA, and the captain is Carlyle, dead because he's no longer in the band, and presumes it's worthless without him and will tank.

"Your saints become sailors" This is interesting, I think that the 'saints' are the other members of Attack Attack! seing as they kicked him out for being "Unchristian." But they simply become sailors (Known for being foul-mouthed and rough) and end up dead and worthless, taken by the ocean (Being Carlyle)

"Salt your eyes" Pretty sure this means cry about what happened.

"The waves start the flood that's drowning yourself" This means that they brought their downfall about on their own. (Although I don't think they've really lost much popularity)

I guess the title comes from the fact that The South, might mean that it's lawless country where anything goes, but I think this is a pretty weak theory.

Cheers.

I'm the first comment. This is the first time this has happened. I should tell someone. Mom, I'm the first comment. She's never been more proud in her life. As for the meaning of this song, it's a big "fuck you" to the king of butt-fucking himself. Caleb from Attack Attack? (US) Why is there the (US) now I have the same band twice on my Ipod.

Lol what is your obsession with this band, and, hatred towards attack attack? Every meaning of M&M I come across one of your "meanings" that has something derogation to the other band. Since when did it become a fucking competition? When did your opinion matter? What basement did you crawl out under from to make such statements - besides your mothers of course?
