Sweetness
On the rips of your
Old Dress
Twilight
Passed the banks of the
Warm Fire
Whispers in the dark they hit the trees
And they run in to your heart to find mama's sleeves
Daddy ain't awake yet and daylight's gone
You're afraid of the dark you think of mama's bones
Says I can't live like this

Because I heard your mama cry
Behind the door I'm listenin'
She said she's gonna fly
With words your mouth she's kissing

She said Oh oh oh child
Your back is straight
Don't let hurt curve it that way
Say nah nah nah nah

Sweetness
On the ribs of your
Bare chest
Twilight
On the roof of that
Snowy night
You run into the dark without your boots on
And if you could be lost you'd find yourself at home
Where mama's house is up on the sunrise
Sweet good god just take me by surprise

Cuz I can't live like this
Says I heard your mama cry
Behind the door I'm listenin'
She says she's gonna try
With words your mouth she's kissin'

And she said oh oh oh child
Your back is straight
Don't let hurt curve it that way

But I said mama just take me home
Cuz I can't stand bein' alone
This pain is shooting down my spine again
I said Daddy's feelin' sick
I think he's gonna quit

Sweetness
On the mouth of your caress
Twilight
Past the stars of that open night

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
