impossible Lyrics
IMPOSSIBLE
Everyday I'm disappearing
out of sight and out of hearing
it's impossible
it's impossible
to be invincible
to be invincible
more and more it happens daily
my first name's george and the second bailey
it's impossible
it's impossible
to be invincible
to be invincible
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
'cause you said I am
yeah
so cut me out of the family photo
who would have thought of sinking so low
it's impossible to be invincible
but maybe it's possible to be impossible
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
'cause you said I am
yeah
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
'cause you said I am
yeah
out of sight and out of hearing
it's impossible
it's impossible
to be invincible
to be invincible
my first name's george and the second bailey
it's impossible
it's impossible
to be invincible
to be invincible
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
'cause you said I am
yeah
who would have thought of sinking so low
it's impossible to be invincible
but maybe it's possible to be impossible
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
'cause you said I am
yeah
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
'cause you said I am
yeah

IMHO, I think this track is commenting on how men are expected not to be vulnerable and how it is a taboo to talk about depression, sadness, anxiety and the rest of it.
"I am a man 'cause you said I am" refers to how society expects a man to live up to their masculine stereotype.
"it's impossible to be invincible" refers him wanting to shake this stereotype off and wanting to open up because he doesn't want to live up to this stereotype, or how he feel's it's impossible to live up to being invincible.
I also believe that "who would have thought of sinking so low" and "Everyday I'm disappearing out of sight and out of hearing" are both references to depression or insecurity.
Great song, something that I feel I've been able to relate with :')
peace
No one else gets the "It's a Wonderful Life" reference in this song?
It's a song about contemplating suicide.
I do, that's one of my favourite movies, and this is one of my favourite songs

This song is just pure class... there's a real feeling of energy trying to be unleashed. Full of frustration and whatever. Just brilliant
