Beauty of Annihilation Lyrics

All my atrocities
Come by way of reciprocity
I'm chewing the bones of my own reprieve

Death be my dignity
Execute hemlock philosophy
Poison fills the cup of the carpenter

NO!
Love lost on me
MORE!
Life so costly

No reason
For grieving

No
LOVE LOST ON ME
More
LIFE SO COSTLY

Bring me down with
SEVEN POINT SIX TWO HIGH VELOCITY

I can see them everywhere
They're all around me
They're waiting for me

Descending
Unrelenting

Beauty of annihilation

Your curiosity
Feeding off my animosity

And reason
Is treason

DOWN! With all that's good and clean and you can't fucking annihilate me!

Bring you down with
SEVEN POINT NINE TWO AND NO IMPUNITY!

I can see them everywhere
They're all around me
They're waiting for me

Descending
Unrelenting

Beauty of annihilation

Death so beautiful
Looks so beautiful
Death so beautiful
Looks so beautiful on me

I can see them everywhere
I can see them everywhere I go
I can see them everywhere
They're all around me
They're waiting for me

I can see them everywhere
I can see them everywhere I go
I can see them everywhere
They're all around me
They're waiting for me

Descending
Unrelenting

Beauty of annihilation

Looks like your prophet was mistaken
Is life really gone or just been wasted?
Death so close that I can taste it

The first few lines of the song talk about the four characters:

All my atrocities Come by way of reciprocity

This talks about Dempsey and how all the terrible things he did in the war was justifed by good intentions I guess...

I'm chewing the bones of my own reprieve

Dr. Richtofen helped create the zombies and now he is fighting and killing his creations.

Death be my dignity Execute hemlock philosophy

This is talking about Takeo, and that the Japanese would kill themselfs with hemlock, a poison, rather than get captured by the enemy.

Poison fills the cup of the carpenter

Nikolai was once a carpenter as he said in his quotes in Kino Der Toten and 'the posion fills the cup' refers to vodka he drinks.

NO! Love lost on me

The four men don't waste time on friendship as they mostly insult each other.

MORE! Life so costly

It costs points to open doors, buy guns, etc.

No reason For grieving

I'm guessing this means that they wont grieve over what has been lost.

No LOVE LOST ON ME More LIFE SO COSTLY

Ditto to the above...

Bring me down with SEVEN POINT SIX TWO HIGH VELOCITY 7.63 high velocity is a gun called Nato standard rifle round with the velocity referring to the round loaded with more black powder to have greater muzzle velocity.

I can see them everywhere They're all around me They're waiting for me

The zombies had surrounded and are waiting for the survivors to make a move.

Descending Unrelenting The zombies will never stop chasing after them

just wanted to clarify, 7.62 High Velocity refers to the BULLET fired by most of NATO's standard heavier automatic weapons, as the 5.56 mm bullet is slightly more widely used. The 'high velocity', as you said does refer to the amount of powder that is packed into the cartridge to increase the velocity and devastating capability of the round. the 7.92mm round was used by the Nazis' machine-guns in the Second World War. that was not a typo, i looked it up, haha. otherwise, yeah, i definitely agree with you on everything else.

its kind of obvious what this song is talking about because its part of the soundtrack for the ZOMBIES part of call of duty but its about fighting zombies. throughout the song it talks about how she has every reason to kill as much as possible and in the chorus it talks about how she can see them everywhere which is referring to how she is swarmed by them and they are descending on her and that they are unrelenting. the song title comes in to describe the chaos. instead of being afraid of the horde she finds beauty out of killing it and enjoys the mass murder. quite pleasant.

ok so the way i see it the meaning of the song, its about sam and her control on the zombies and how she is attached to each one, also it think it describes how she is satisfied with killing everyone due to she is obtaining revenge on ricthofen and the people who have hurt her. Also since she is technically already dead and "spoiler alert" in a pyramid on the moon, she knows she has won and will annihilate everyone and everything

TL;DR: it's an anti-Nazi song.

The line "Execute hemlock philosophy" is actually the reference to Greek philosopher Socrates, sentenced to death for his supposedly blasphemous teachings. He was forced to drink a mixture of hemlock. In the line "Poison fills the cup of the carpenter", the phrase "cup of the carpenter" refers to the Holy Grail - if you remember that Jesus was a carpenter, and consider the Holy Grail scene in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", you'll remember that the real Grail in the movie was carved from wood. This also ties into the line "Looks like your prophet was mistaken" near the end. German forces had the words "Gott Mit Uns" (God (is) With Us) stamped on their belt buckles, and despite some of the Third Reich's leaders' fascination with the occult, particularly Nordic myths, considered themselves a Christian nation - hence the "poison fills the cup of the carpenter" reference. Who's the mistaken prophet - you decide. The lines "And reason / Is treason" again tie into the Socrates reference: his trial was heavily political, as he was a well-known critic of the Athenian government, moreso after the lost war with Sparta. He argumented against the "might makes right" approach that necessarily leads to armed conflicts, and that was considered treason and blasphemy. Similarly, the Third Reich executed many people for their anti-war convictions.

"Seven point six two" refers to the rifle ammunition used both by US and Russian forces during World War II (.30 cal. is 7.62mm in metric, the Russian forces predominantly used the 7.62x54R Mosin round, with the smaller 7.62x39 mm round introduced late in the war), while "seven point nine two" refers to the German 7.92x57 mm Mauser and later 7.92x33 mm Kurz rounds. Notice the wording: "bring ME down with 7.62", "bring YOU down with 7.92". This means that those who revel in the "beauty of annihilation", going against "all that's good and clean" use 7.92 mm guns - like the Third Reich.
