Exit Does Not Exist Lyrics
Does not exist, take an exit
I hear voices insinuating
Feeds me words to this song that I am saying
Sunlight, 7:20 PM early September
Standing looking at a photograph you don't remember
You look out of breath, and me like I am faking
As I matter of fact I don't recall this being taken
You don't actually exist so I start shaking
Does not exist, take an exit
Feeds me words to this song that I am saying
Standing looking at a photograph you don't remember
As I matter of fact I don't recall this being taken

this song is anything but upbeat, but a fine and very, very sad song
it's about someone looking at a photo with it's date printed on it but can't remember the actual taking of the photo (or they are looking at a photo one night at 7:20 pm)
supposing it's a girl who wrote the song she sees the man with her in the photo looks out of breath while she looks like she's faking some feeling
the does not exist, take an exit line, sounds eerie, the way it's sung
like she shouldn't be looking back at old pictures of things that don't exist anymore
love the song
the person in the photograph is dead. the narrator forgot about the person.
heartbreaking.
Like someone else said, it's about looking at a photo of yourself and a loved one who's passed away - someone who no longer exists, strictly speaking.
I don't know the original, only the SKM cover. It begins the Tiny Cities cd, which uses MM covers to express the experience of losing someone and trying to deal with it.
