We Will Walk Lyrics

Ah.

I told her you must go, you can't stay here
she said I know, since the death blow
my soul's been old like sand
I'm so tired it's like my spirit expired

remember when I was just a child
now I feel like a star at daybreak
about to expire and get lost in the sun
me and you we got to leave
and just run and run

don't wait for me while I'm down cause I might not get up
all I have is right now, gonna give you what I got

you are the only good thing that I have ever done
we will walk, until my blood rund out
until my heat is burnt
you are not alone

run yeah, run yeah runnin away
come we stun ya here to stay
up and down so look both ways
tryin to live most every day
if you don't well that's ok
bound to the one and will not sway
found again his majesty
record power radio play
climb and climb to outer space
give and take it's time to taste
make the best and don't leave no waste
world moves fast don't lose your place
wanna build tall gotta havea strong base
and play like kids and meditate

he sits on top of a mountain
pumping blood through the veins of creation
land and sky

he aches for her but can't find his way
can't live no more
and I ache for her but can't find my way
I can't live no more
she is not alone
just before the light goes away
comes a child that collects all the reasons to be
the laughs, the smiles, moments of clarity
exchanging them for another day
and so my heart continues to say

you are the only good thing that I have ever done
we will walk, until my blood rund out
until my heat is burnt
you are not alone

here we go its you and me
gotta let go, gotta believe
rip through negativityy
find some place where we can be
oh I agree inevitably
we can't stay here it's time to leave
slip and slide, the day has come, undone,
bottoms up don't be a crumb, undumb,
children dance sing and drum
lighten up don't weigh a ton
lighten up don't weigh a ton

she said we gotta go, we can't stay here
I said I know but got no place to go
the nights are cold and we need a place to be
remember when I was just a child
now I feel like a star at daybreak bout to expire
and get lost in the sun
me and you, we gotta leave
and just run and run
run and run away
we can't stay

Is this another song about his wife?

So I think this is about a man and his wife. The man has just lost someone extremely close to him (I think his mom).

In the first verse he is coping with the loss and decides the best way to get over it is to just ignore it and just live in the moment. He is going to ignore the pain of the loss and just live it up with his wife.

The second verse has two parts that are separated by "he sits on top of a mountain pumping blood through the veins of creation land and sky".

The first part he is running away from the pain "run yeah, run yeah runnin' away" he is just trying to make the most of what he has while still not coping with the loss of his mother.

The part that separates the two halves is when he and his wife conceive a child. He is reminded about the loss of his mom. Since he has not properly grieved yet he begins to dive into depression (could even be suicidal). Just as he is in his darkest hour his child is born and gives him a reason to live "just before the light goes away, comes a child that collects all the reasons to be. the laughs, the smiles, moments of clarity exchanging them for another day".

Once he has a child, he and his wife are once again alive and better than ever. (hurray a happy ending!)

As for the chorus I think this is his mothers dying words. They are haunting him throughout the song and once his child is born he finally realizes that he is exactly like her and that to him his child is "the only good thing that I have ever done"
