Monster Lyrics

don't call me Gaga
i've never seen one like that before
don't look at me like that
you amaze me

he ate my heart, he ate-ate-ate my heart
(you're a monster)
he ate my heart
(you amaze me)
he ate-ate-ate my heart out (x2)

look at him, look at me
that boy is bad, and honestly
he's a wolf in disguise
but i can't stop staring in those evil eyes

i asked my girlfriend if she's seen him round before
she mumbled something while we got down on the floor, baby
we might have fucked, not really sure don't quite recall
but something tells me that i've seen him, yeah

that boy is a monster
(muh-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster
(mah-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster
(muh-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster, erererer.

he ate my heart
(i love that girl)
he ate my heart
(wanna talk to her, she's hot as hell)

he licked his lips, said to me:
"girl you look good enough to eat"
put his arms around me
said, "boy now get your paws right off of me"

i asked my girlfriend if she's seen him round before
she mumbled something while we got down on the floor, baby
we might have fucked, not really sure, don't quite recall
but something tells me that i've seen him, yeah

that boy is a monster
(muh-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster
(mah-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster
(muh-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster, erererer.

he ate my heart
(i love that girl)
he ate my heart
(wanna talk to her, she's hot as hell)

he ate my heart, he ate my heart instead
he's a monster in my bed
he ate my heart, he ate my heart instead
he's a monster in my bed

i wanna just dance but he took me home instead
uh oh, there was a monster in my bed.
we french kissed on a subway train
he tore my clothes right off;
he ate my heart and then he ate my brain

ohhhh, ohhhh.
(i love that girl,
wanna talk to her,
she's hot as hell)

he ate my heart
(i love that girl)
he ate ate ate my heart
(wanna talk to her, she's hot as hell)

that boy,

that boy is a monster
(muh-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster
(mah-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster
(muh-muh-muh-monster)
that boy is a monster, erererer.

I think this song is about her fear of men. She said in an interview that, up until now, she's kinda viewed men as "monsters," and in other interviews she said she's never experienced love [the "true" kind] before, and that the reason she's given her heart and soul over to music and art is because her art would would never get up in the morning and leave her.

I think this song also might be an ode to her fans. Her fans being hers little "Monsters," whom have eaten her heart, and her brain. We wanna "just dance" with her.

Whatever the song's about, it's hot as well, and I think it should be her 3rd single.

"we might have fucked, not really sure, don't quite recall"

best line ever!

GaGa explained this; it's about the fear of attachment, loving something that's bad for you. And as other have mentioned (( aris6 )) a guy with a big dick.

"He ate my heart and then he ate my brain." I love this line in particular.

This guy didn't only steal my heart, he didn't just sweep me off my feet. He took over my brain; I now can't even realize how head over heels I am.

Everyone in a relationship that's lasted fairly long knows this feeling. I love this song! :)

I think this song is about rape. I know most people say it's about hooking up with someone in a club but the bridge doesn't seem consensual (I wanna just dance but he took me home instead/Uh-oh there was a monster in my bed). She also says he is "the monster in my bed" meaning that he's the thing that makes her afraid of having relationships in the future. When she says "He ate my heart" I think she's referring to the way that he has stolen something from her (by raping her) and she is now afraid of sexual relationships. When she says "We might've fucked not really sure don't quite recall" I don't think it's because she's such a slut that she doesn't remember all the men she's slept with. I think it's because she was drugged and doesn't quite remember what happened but knows that he is the object of her fear.

i've always kind of thought that was the underlying meaning, but i never knew how to properly explain it. now i don't have to. brilliant.

Yeah, makes sense... :/

@nelson14 I think so too. when I listened to the song again, & when the Bridge came it hit me like a mack truck. I think this song covers it up, but it's definitely about rape

This is the real meaning to the song. She is talking about her getting eaten out. I know it sounds nasty but its true. Her heart is her vagina. She is a very sexual person. She calles the man monster because he wants to her out. Im not trying to sound dirty but the sonds makes sense like that.

I've thought about that too! "He licked his lips, looked at me, said 'girl, you look good enough to eat'". Then later, "he was a monster in my bed...tore my clothes right off, he ate my heart and then he ate my brain!" At the same time, though, I don't think that this is the ONLY meaning to the song. I think that it also has a deep meaning relating to fear of relationships and the pain of love.

lol you're just saying that because of the brain part. but no um, interesting take. I am not gonna try and discredit you and I'm sure Gaga would like that interpretation, actually! I agree with the reply below so it could be about that but the general meaning that comes across is desiring someone who may not be wise to associate with, someone who is going to use you but you are addicted to this monster.

She says "he ate my cunt" if you listen closely, especially audible at the end, the last time she says he ate my heart.

Wow, you must be desperate to be the one who submits the lyrics for her new songs to put them up with the few known lines from them before they were even released. :P

Anyways, the song is about her comparing a guy to a monster, he took over her heart, and her mind.

"He's a wolf in disguise But I can't stop staring in those evil eyes"

"He tore my clothes right off He ate my heart and then he ate my brain"

She knows how bad he is but at the same time she can't resist him. The amusing part is though, with the male interjections, it seems that the girl may also be a monster. Since he can't resist her either. ;]

THIS SONG IS GOING TO BE HUGE.

She is like a many faceted diamond - only the diamond is made of latex and crystals of crack cocaine. 'Monster' can mean anything you wish. It can symbolise the multi-layered fears involved with sex, love, drugs, fame; all they can take from you and all they can give in return. It can show an unconventional attitude towards the necessity of convention in relationships; the relationship between the physical and spiritual as nothing more than a habit, with the heart as a vulnerable non-entity holding her down.

She is going to release it, shoot a kickass video for it that not even Las Vegas is ready for, and the phrase 'ate my heart' shall enter the English language.

This is what I absolutely love about music there are so many different interpretations of songs, and Lady Gaga's song's are among the best examples. I can see everyone's poing to view on here and see exactly how it makes sense with the lyrics and can imagine her writing them for that purpose.

For me this song was about a boy that was a monstor. She was attracted to him instantly even though she knew she shouldn't have been, but then it turned out worse than she ever expected. The lyric "he ate my heart" meant that he destroyed her abilty to love ever again because it was so terrible.

I've just recently started listening to Lady Gaga, let alone loving her music, and when I heard this song I couldn't help but think it had something to do with sexual violence. I thought I'd be the only one, and I just wanted to say that I'm so glad I'm not.
