The song is saying that we're selfish, and panic when wealth is 'out of sight'. Instead we should be generous and 'distribute our wealth', which kinda rings bells of pro-communism although maybe that's not quite what the song is getting at. The song hopes for a selfless human race, because in our own selfishness we're hurting our own, and the earth we live on.
