Pop Art Blue Lyrics
Yeah we are running and how we are running
Across the hills in the pop art blue
Buzzers fly above the car
Circling us as if they knew
If I falter, If I falter
Darling will you reel me in?
If I lose it, If I lose it
Will you remind where we've been?
So we were climbing and how we were climbing
The cartoon trees up to the sky
As the sun drops off the page
Goldy flew into my eye
Well it's all up from here.
It's like I can taste opportunity near.
I cut myself on barbwire, getting wood for the fire
I was too.. busy staring at you...
You...
So then we were floating up, we were floating like particles into the night
High above the factories
We hitched a lift on a satellite
Lover, will you spin me round?
May we never fall back to ground
Well it's all up from here
It's like I can taste opportunity near
I cut myself on barbwire
Getting wood for the fire
I was too.. Busy staring at you...
Well it's all up from here
It's like I can taste opportunity near
I cut myself on barbwire
Getting wood for the fire
I was too.. Busy staring at you...
I was too.. Busy staring at you...(Falling into)(Getting wood for the fire)
I was too.. Busy staring at you...(Into your eyes)(Getting wood for the fire)
I was too.. Busy staring at you...(Falling into)(Getting wood for the fire)

lovely song . . .. almost like an anti-thesis to 'home' . . . a bright beauty as a foil to that dreamy masterpiece . . . zero 7 definitely moving on and evolving in terms of their sound and moods . . . this new album is filled with 'happy' and 'lighter' songs - seems like they've tabled out after a shaky 'the garden' - although i have a sense that fans of the first two albums [like me] will off-hand not like the new album or [as i did] slowly grow to like it. I guess everything needs to move on.
It's buzzards (as in the bird) not buzzers. The singer's English accent softens the ending of the word, so I guess why some people hear buzzer.
It makes sense for buzzards to circle above a car, since that's what they do; they love roads, easy access to roadkill since a buzzard is an opportunistic (read: lazy) hunter.
This song just evokes lovely, happy memories of driving through Devon and Cornwall for me, it seems so very English countryside. Happy holidays in
There's a kind of insect whose name is Buzzer. If you are not familiar with it, I'll give you two links to two different kinds of them. And, if you had ever seen one you'd know they really like flying in circles as if they were just chasing themselves. Here're the links:

But, after I read your explanation and the "buzzards" explanation, I really think it makes more sense, because of the continuity of the lyric, when she says:

Extremely good song, with a few other songs from this album the absolute best Zero 7 have ever produced.
This album will feel weird and alien to many people who enjoy the first two albums, but if you let it, it will grow beyond both of those in depth.
I just love Zero 7 all around, they never let me down. This may be my favorite song from this album.
My 2nd favorite song in Yeah Ghost, my first being Swing.
What is the pop art blue? Is like a "sad art of pop" or something like that? I didn't get this part: "Across the hills in the pop art blue"
