The Memory Lyrics

She is everywhere I go
Everyone I see
Winter's gone and I still can't sleep
Summer's on the way
At least that's what they say
But these clouds won't leave

Walk away
Barely breathing
As I'm lying on the floor
Take my heart
As you're leaving
I don't need it anymore

This is the memory
This is the curse of having
Too much time to think about it
It's killing me
This is the last time
This is my forgiveness
This is endless

Now spring has brought the rain
But I still see your face
And I can not escape the past
Creeping up inside
Reminding me that I
Can never bring you back

This is the memory
This is the curse of having
Too much time to think about it
It's killing me
This is the last time
This is my forgiveness
This is endless

This is endless(x3)

Someone help me
Cuz the memory
Convinced itself to tear me apart
And it's gonna succeed before long

This is the memory
This is the curse of having
Too much time to think about it
It's killing me
This is the last time
This is my forgiveness
This is endless
This is endless

Someone help me
Cuz the memory
Convinced itself to tear me apart
And it's gonna succeed before long
(This is endless)

She is everywhere I go
Everyone I see
But these clouds won't leave

Wow, amazing song.....you could take it both ways as either a girl he loved has passed away or a girl who he has ended the relationship with......great song!

Amazing, love this song so much. My interpritation is that he was with someone and they died. Simple as that. and though many people are telling him that he should at least try to get over it, he can't bring himself to let her go. that's what I think.

and here's a note to all of you who miss the old Mayday Parade:: GET OVER IT. The band is moving on and becoming something else. If you miss their old stuff, go listen to it. They're still just as good as they ever were. Jason's departure may have changed their style in a way, but they're still amazing. Love Mayday Parade for what they are. They're always going to amazing. that's all... :P

I think this song is about how he loved a girl but she died

"Now spring has brought the rain But I still see your face And I can not escape the past Creeping up inside Reminding me that I Can never bring you back"

its really sad, but so so beautiful

It's pretty simple. Just him thinking too much about a lost relationship

This is how I see the song. A girlfriend, friend, whatever, someone he was close to and that he cared about passed away. Or maybe just left, but I get the vibe that he's grieving a loss. He knows he should be able to get over it and people are telling him to move on, but he can't, and it's frustrating him.

He shows this by noting the passing of the seasons, and saying that he still can't stop thinking about her and the memory of her death. ("The memory" may refer to the memory of her in general or the specific memory of her death).

"Walk away Barely breathing As I'm lying on the floor Take my heart As you're leaving I don't need it anymore"

He's depressed and at a loss for what to do about his misery. She "took his heart" when she passed away, and he feels as if he doesn't even have one any more.

"This is the memory This is the curse of having Too much time to think about it It's killing me This is the last time This is my forgiveness This is endless"

In the chorus he is saying that thinking about her and everything that's happened is basically driving him crazy. A part of him wants to forget her completely but a bigger part of him feels guilty for just forgetting, so he's torturing himself with the memory. He's apologizing to her for trying to stop thinking about her. He's losing it.

Long story short, a painful meory is tearing him apart, and he's torn between trying to forget it and dwelling on it until it kills him.

My Interpretation

Perfection. I love it. It reminds me more of their older stuff. The new album was so much more mainstream.

As for meaning; he loves girl, girl ditches him, he can't stop thinking about her, missing her, she hurt him but he forgives her for it because he still loves her.

this song is amazing. about a girl he loved, but then she passed away.

it really hits home, because my best friend just passed away in a car wreck. :/

I could see this song as being about the end of a relationship or about someone who died. I think that's part of what makes Mayday Parade so great. Their songs can be interpreted in so many different ways, and so many people can relate to their music. That's what truly makes a great artist.

This song reminds me of my cousin, Zachary. He died from drinking a bottle of vodka </3 I think this song is about a girl that he really cared about. Or maybe a story about a girl meaning alot to someone they know.

"She is everywhere I go Everyone I see Winter's gone and I still can't sleep Summer's on the way At least that's what they say But these clouds won't leave"

meaning, He (or she) misses her, and their depressed as the season changes from winter to summer, people tell him or her to get over it, yet the feeling will never change.

"Walk away Barely breathing As I'm lying on the floor Take my heart As you're leaving I don't need it anymore"

meaning, he or she wished that it had been them that died, in replace of her. OR that he or she wants the memory to stay with her because he doesn't want the hurt in his/her heart.

"This is the memory This is the curse of having Too much time to think about it It's killing me This is the last time This is my forgiveness This is endless"

meaning, It's a memory they are having, bringing back the past, making them depressed again, just like when it happened. They promise themselves it'd be the last time, yet they'll never forget, so it's endless.

"Now spring has brought the rain But I still see your face And I can not escape the past Creeping up inside Reminding me that I Can never bring you back"

meaning, spring came around and their still depressed, still seeing her face, wanting her to come back, wishing.. although it will never happen.

"Someone help me Cuz the memory Convinced itself to tear me apart And it's gonna succeed before long"

meaning, they want help because their in a depressed state of mind, and it might cause them to do harm to themselves.

Yeah.. i might have the meanings wrong.. but thats what i'm feeling when i hear the song.

R.I.P Zachary, i love you </3
