Arrive Lyrics

Pseudo - Squander
plummet
crunch
on the feet of the gods do the endless munch
Hunger
Open - Whooosh.. Wind

BOOM

The Ash Grey Door of Doom

the moon is still
the stars are.. still
the wind is still still
but not completely gone

the moon is still
the stars are.. still
the wind is still still
but not completely gone

BOOM

black
circles in the dust
spinning on a wind deprived of its lust

the sky above
is bent and swings
to the sound of silent things

BOOM

I can't have it all
flee the moment and the moment will find you
I can't take this call
but I can hear it
I CAN HEAR IT
I can't find the words
speak of the devil and the devil will find you
I'm here but not at all
BUT NOT AT ALL

BOOM

...and we know that within
our model of a human heart is doomed

BOOM

and still there is that gleaming silence
underneath a gaping sky and an empty moon

BOOM

No need to operate
to save my life

the time is coming
quickly sliding soon
so soon
all the breaths in all the world
stop breathing
and so
consumed

ARRIVE

HORSE nailed it with this album and this song.

totally agreed. i was really skeptical about how their sound would differ, but this album is sick. i really don't know what this song is about though, probably my favorite of them all.

maybe something about accepting death, that's what i first thought when i heard it.

pretty sure this song directly relates to the movie "desperate living" as does most of the album. for the record this album is sick but i will be surprised if horse can ever top the mechanical hand

"BOOM

The Ash Grey Door of Doom"

Pretty sure it's about the end of humanity, bombs destroying civilization as we know it and the moments as it happens. Peoples priorities and beliefs falling to the wayside as none of it seems to matter. I believe Nathan is suggesting the end of our world is the climax of our existence, like one last huge gasp of air before it's all over.

It finishes after repeated BOOM's with "the time is coming quickly sliding soon so soon all the breaths in all the world stop breathing and so consumed"

and then "ARRIVE", to suggest we've completed our journey.

While A Natural Death is more broad in terms of dealing with death in general, I see this song/album to be quite specific. The placement of this song after Rape Escape makes me think of somebody just wanting to die; a bomb or a meteor that will instantly kill you, so everything is over and the pain ends. The end of Desperate Living.

The melody of this song was made around the time The Mechanical Hand came out.

Eric was singing it in one of their YouTube shorts they made with Dr. Soy and whatnot. It was a "birthday song"

Ironic?

While yes, it was made during a YouTube clip for the making of, the plot of the skit was making fun of Chiodos. He stated that all Chiodos did was make cheap poppy melodies and everyone loves it, started playing this impersonating Chiodos, then stated that it was way too advanced for Chiodos to play.

The whole thing started when a kid wearing a HORSE shirt got spit on/made fun of at a Chiodos show by the band.
