Big Business Lyrics

BIG
b-u-s-i-n-e-s-s

He's an engima
wrapped up
in a conundrum

He's a mystery
tragic
like an ailing paramedic

My heart BOOMs to see you're still standing
I know that your faiths can be demanding
with those cables all plugged in your head
In Poughkeepsie I thought you were dead

Ed Edge
He's Ed Edge
Ed.

He's an engima
wrapped up
in a conundrum

He's a mystery
tragic
like an ailing paramedic

Like me tell you about Ed Edge...
Mexico City

He's a Buddhist, Christian, paramedic, vegan, straight
edge pimp
but most of all..

BIG

He's BIG

Under an attack of the heart

He knows the sign
holds it close to his heart
all the time

He's a believer, a healer
a sexuality stealer

Where have you been Ed
where are you going to?

He drifts on soul tides
from island birth
..he arrives
golden heart and black hands
A human male. He's just a man.

Where have you been Ed
where are you going to?
Where have you been Ed
where are you going?

Yes, this song is about Ed Edge, their merch guy and Triangle player. The title comes from his penis.

i wonder if this song is about their merch guy who's always at their shows. The song has prominent triangle in it and the merch guy sometimes plays triangle (sometimes dressed as an egg or pizza) with them live. Also this line: "golden heart and black hands A human male. He's just a man." If i remember correctly, I think the merch guy is black, so that kinda supports it too. I could be wrong but it seems like a thank you to that guy.

oh, also the song is called big business, and that merch guy is involved with the business end of their shows.

So Ed, he is the "Merch" guy? For some reason I always thought his name was Tim, maybe Tom? No? Historically bands play around with names and such and seems to me that most people like to remain anonymous when they haven't given permission to be in the spotlight.

Slightly off topic, I was reading an article about Winneke and what he thinks of his own band is pretty funny... he says he thinks the band is "very reckless and "immature" and "have no idea what they're doing".

Well its not like they are being cruel or hurting anyone so what the heck right? Its all in good FUN.

Oops forgot to say, I've always been partial to House of Boo, just stunning imagery there.

here's a page for Ed Edge: http://www.myspace.com/ededge seeing as he's friends with the guitarist for HORSE, there's a HORSE video up, and he looks like the merch guy, i think this song is about him.
