I love this song! I agree with boltzman5 that it sounds like he says “‘Cuz magic ain’t no hand-me-down yearning” but rather than hearing onion I hear unend “like some everlasting unend I love”

I’m not too sure about the kangaroo part... though it sort of sounds like he says “like a bow-tied kangaroo” or “like and old, tired kangaroo”, I guess the latter would make more sense.

i'm pretty sure the lyric is "magic in the wind that i'm yearning" and.. "Bow tie kangaroo" the acoustic version makes it's easier to hear.
