How He Loves Lyrics
I can't believe nobody's commented on this song! I think it's one of the most powerful worship songs out there right now. Whenever I've heard it sung at concerts and worship services, I've always heard the line sung as "heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss", but on the radio it's "unforseen kiss". I wonder why? Anyway, great song!
In my church we always sing "Heaven meets earth like a passionate kiss" haha! I guess it just depends where you hear it at.

well, i think its because "sloppy wet kiss" isnt as respectful or meaningfull as "unforseen kiss" also i think becasue unforseen sounds more meaningfull but iether way the song is still amazing

This is my absolute favorite song, EVER. I've only been a "saved Christian" for about 5 months now, and every time I listen to this song I reminded of how much God loves me, and how I am such a treasure to him. Whenever I foolishly doubt him, or get angry with him, this song reminds me that he's not purposely hurting me.
This seriously is the best worship song ever.
I love this song, but one little theological nitpick:
"And we are His portion and He is our prize"
Shouldn't that be the other way around? "Portion" implies need, and we need God, not the other way around. "Prize" could go either way, I suppose, but implies something that's delightful to have, not necessarily a need.
There is a good explanation of that here: http://blog.theporchdallas.com/2012/05/how-he-loves/

Basically, the Bible talks about God's people as His "portion", in places like Deuteronomy 32:9. A "portion" is something set aside for someone, and does not necessarily imply need.

And Paul compares the Christian life to a race, and talks about striving to win an eternal "prize", in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

@jamieanne92 You are right. It was originalyl written and performed by John Mark McMillan and he explains in his blog why DCB changed it.

@murlouh23 Portion, to me, describes belonging, not need. We belong to God, not that God needs us.
i think this song is amazing the video for it is a little off, but i like how he expresses God... i mean think of it a storm to a tree, portion and prize, he is an ocean and we are all sinking, every time i do a cover or olay or even hear it it gives me chills because i wonder how can something so powerfull be jealous for me.....because he loves us
I went to a church camp, and the band played this, and I cried everytime. It reminds me of how much he really does love us, and will always be there for us no matter what. Its an amazing song.<333
Thought I was going schizophrenic the first time I heard this song with good headphones :P
But anyways..
Amazing song, no matter what we're going through we can know that it is for a purpose and that in the midst of that He loves us.
