really cute song...reminds me of the 90s; the music is awesome, super pretty and sweet...dreamy, bubbly, but with a reality undertone, and her voice is great as it is in every song of hers...

I think the meaning to the lyrics are about denying feelings for someone who may possibly be denying feelings for you, but you really don't know...all you really do know is that you're into that person and feel a belonging with them, even if all you're doing is just being in their company...being 'quiet' with one another. quiet could also be about the secrets and everything, of how you feel about the person.

I'm a complete metal head, but I love this song, and the entire album.

To me it's about a girl (Obviously) and her best friend. The first few lines (I don't know the muso term for this) makes it clear that they're not a couple. Then the next Paragraph(Stanza?) makes it clear that she is happy with it how it is, and doesn't want it to change. It's a real sweet song, reminds me of a little girl and a boy, or teenage best friends, couldn't picture it with adults. The person she's with in this song is obviously one of those people you find every once in a while where you can be quiet with and the silence won't be awkward, because you don't need to talk when together anymore. She thinks she has stronger feelings for the boy in the story, made clear with the "I'm right here.." part. He knows this and she thinks he's more ready than she is, to possibly take it to the next level.

In my opinion, in this situation as the guy. I would rather keep it how it was, so you wouldn't have to live with any fighting wars or anything.

I think this song is about two best friends who like each other but won't admit it. Lights is singing about how she wants to date this person but it seems like she's scared if he doesn't like her back or they break up their friendship will be ruined. and the line 'I'm the one, there's not too many' I think it means she's a true friend.

me and my girlfriend had a fight and she sent me this song saying what dos this song make u feel like... it kinda went over my head at first but looking at these explanations of the song it really helped me to understand how she was feeling and how our relationship was going. thank u

The first time I heard the beginning of this song, my mouth dropped wide open. And then I replayed the beginning over and over again. xD

I love the beginning so much. It has that cultural sound to it, and then it zooms into that outer-spacey kind of sound. It's like an image of the Taj Mahal at night or something, then zooming the camera up and up until you see all the stars and planets in space... I don't know. xD

Anyway, I think that the song is just about being quiet and enjoying life. She can wait a thousand hours, just staying like that with the person she loves, whether it's a friend, a family member, a boyfriend, or - if you want to take the Christian look at it like I usually do xD - God. For me, I like to think of it as God, because it's amazing to think about spending 'a thousand hours' with him. But basically, it's anyone that makes her feel happy.

LIGHTS said that she wants her songs to feel outer-spacey. I think that this song accomplishes that goal the most. Without a doubt.

To me, it definitely feels like the first user's meaning; Two people who feel so right together but either of them are either taken or just haven't spoken up. The being "quiet" is obviously them not saying their feelings out loud.

The "Pick apart a hundred flowers" kind of reminds me of the "Does he/she love, does he/she not" thing that people do.

One of my favorite Lights song.
