beauty killer Lyrics

if i can't be beautiful,
i'd rather just die.

so self obsessed with my mascara and mistakes
vanities like a funeral, and everyone's at my wake.
before i run out of air, there's more makeup to apply
all eyes stare into valium coloured skies

i got a sweet tooth, and strawberry youth,
you wanna be my licorice and misguided youth.
and right now, i'll show you how i'm a beauty killer.

rhinestone my eyes closed and please fix my hair.
this concealer can't hide all my pink nightmares
before i run out of air, there's more makeup to apply
doll eyes stare into valium coloured skies

i almost died, but it felt great
faking perfection wasn't worth the wait.
i may be easy, easy to hate
but you're so fucking easy,
easy to break

i got a sweet tooth, and strawberry youth,
you wanna be my licorice and misguided youth.
and right now, i'll show you how i'm a beauty killer.

i almost died, but it felt great.
faking perfection wasn't worth the wait.
i may be easy, easy to hate
but you're so fucking easy,
easy to break

tell me your secrets,
and i'll tell you my lies.
everything is monotone in my dead eyes.
if i can't be beautiful, i'd rather just die.
i'm a beauty killer.
gorgeous killer.
hot pink killer.
fierce killer.
i'm a beauty killer.

i'll fucking kill you.

I believe this song has alot of true meaning. Hes pretty much telling us that he was appearently misguided "probably while growing up" to think outside beauty always over powers & is stronger than inside beauty. Wich is true...look at the world we live in. Its all in the fashion magazines, Vogue, Cosmo ect. Americans are some of the most beautifuly attractive people. But then again some of the most meanest & ill mannered. So to him the only thing important now is obviously Vanity. To be beautiful...everything else is monotone, jaded, nothing special anymore so to speak. & that he has probably tried to commit suicide before by saying (I almost died, but it felt great) maybe attemting to overdose (doll eyes stare into valuim colored skys) & he lives a superficail & selfish but lonely life by him saying (I may be easy to hate) & he is so obsessed with the topic of beauty that its nothing new to him & most likely its all he thinks about & wants to talk about is looks...making people around him disgusted by his obsession. & he fears the day he dies cuz then he will no longer be in control of his body image. knowing his corpse will become rotten & he will no longer have the cravings for youth or seductive beauty of the living. ( sweet tooth & strawbery youth) But at the same time wants to die cuz he is so miserable. Also people probably have asked him how he has become sooo wraped up in what society thinks real beauty is. Leading to him then saying (Ill show you how)...(Ima beauty killer)cocluding he may look perfect but inside hes just as ugly as a rusty nail. Cool song...this is just my view on these lyrics. sorry 4 spelling. Jiszelle xoxox

I think the meaning of this song (overall, there seems to be many messages in it) is that he is very obsessed with beauty and it's controlling his life.

My Interpretation

Beauty killer might mean that he kills beauties... or it might mean that he kills the idea of beauty itself.

To me, this song is about the the trauma of becoming an object subject to society's desires. The way he speaks about his own death as being of minimal concern in comparison to vanity makes it seem as though he says it out of conformation to expectations. He's allowed the media to control him and change him into something he's not. He is his own piece of art, and regardless of how much he hates himself for it, he lets his own obsession with conforming to society's ideals control his every move. ("...Faking perfection wasn't worth the wait.") His voice is so monotone throughout the song until he sings the actual words "I'm a beauty killer"... The sadness in his voice practically gets me into tears. The title means that he's destroying the idea of what beautiful is, because it's shown us what devastating psychological effects that the media is constantly pushing onto people. Last night I went to zellers to pick up some drapes and as I was standing in line at the cashier a rack of magazines caught my eye- Every single one of them was either something to do with weight loss, beauty tips, celebrity fashion or sex. We pick it up everywhere. Society's messages are abundant, addictive, and persuasive, much like a quick-fix pill ("Doll eyes stare into valium colored skies...") Jeffree has a "sweet tooth" for these quick fixes- I believe at the point where he sings in 2nd person (using the word 'you') He's speaking directly to society (his listeners) about how they unknowingly control his life and have shaped him over time into what he's become. The song's technical formation (heavy autotune, electric beat, layover edits, etc) symbolizes the synthetic nature of beauty in today's society. Absolutely incredible. This man is not only a musical genius, but a genius among members of society.
