Say Goodbye

Gorgeous. Reminds me of my friend's ex. They were best friends, but she just felt something was missing so she had to break it off, even though it killed her to do it. It's just the worst thing, because they can't be friends anymore- nothing will be the same.

this is like an epitome of my love life. back in college there was this guy, i had special feelings for him, and i knew he had too. we grew closer, but i suddenly vanished out of the scene. i left him hangin' there, with no explanations... maybe because i was afraid that i will fall deeper in love. he was persistent, but i disappeared out of sight, i never gave him chance to talk to me or whatever communication there is. what could've hurt him is because we were friends, then developed into something closer, then i disappeared. without saying the words, the most important words, the crucial ones. i kept it all inside. because i don't want it to hurt so much when we say goodbye. let me share this:

One grows distant from another, not because of hatred, not because of indifference, but because of fear. After watching the video I have a different understanding of this song. I believe its about losing her lover to suicide. And she can't believe it.

She closing her eyes because looking at her lover lying there will hurt even worst.

"I feel just like an actress, up on the stage I can't believe what I'm hearing myself say And the porch light is my spotlight So I play along with this life That way it won't hurt so much When we say goodbye"

She's saying her last goodbye in front of all of her lovers family and friends. But she's still in shock so in order for her to get through she has to play along with everyone else.

"Did you ever love me? Does it even matter? Did you even notice the whole world shatter? I just want to hold you and tell you that I'm sorry But I just keep it all inside That way it won't hurt so much When we say goodbye"

In this verse she ask why did he have to go? Did he ever love her if he did why did he leave her. and with him leaving her did he even think about the why she would feel once he is gone. But she wants to go back and hold hum but she still doesn't want to believe that he's gone so she just keeps it bottled in.

"My heart feels like a circus It's to much to take in It's hard to lose love But you were my best friend"

Her heart can't take too much of the hurt. she also expresses how it is indeed hard to lose someone you love but she also lost her best friend.

"So I walk this high wire alone tonight That way it won't hurt so much When we say goodbye"

She realizing that she is now alone be it is still hard to say goodbye.
