Manhã de Carnaval Lyrics

music by Luiz Bonfa (1922-2001)
lyrics by Antonio Maria Araujo de Morais (1921-1964)

Ladi, lalala, lalala, ladi lalala, lalala.
Ladalalala, ladadadidada, ladadidada, ladadadi.
Ladi ladala lalala, ladi ladada dadada
Lada lalala, laladadada, lalala ladilala.

Manha tao bonita manha
De um dia feliz que chegou
O sol no ceu surgiu
E em cada cor brilhou
Voltou o sonho entao
Ao coracao

Depois desse dia feliz
Nao sei se outro dia vira
E nossa manha
Tao bela afinal manha
De carnaval

Canta o meu coracao
alegria voltou, tao feliz
a manha deste amor

Ladi, lalala, lalala, ladi lalala, lalala.
Ladalalala, ladadadidada, ladadidada, ladadadi.
Ladi ladala lalala, ladi ladada dadada
Lada lalala, laladadada, lalala ladilala.

Cover art for Manhã de Carnaval lyrics by Joan Baez

I still can not believe that this lyrical piece is anticipation of a carnival and Brazilian one, too. It is dreamy and for me it is the signature tune for the musical program at radio Liberty, the Russian service.

Canta o meu coracao alegria voltou, tao feliz a manha deste amor

My heart sings joy again, so happy the trick of love

transl. by Thomas Keyes Apr. 14, 2005

Morning, such a nice morning Of a happy day that has begun! The sun has risen into the sky And shone in every heart Then dreams have returned To the heart

After this happy day, I don't know if another day will come, And our tomorrow, After all such a beautiful tomorrow Of carnival.

My heart sings. Joy has returned. So happy The morning of this love!
