Asleep (The Smiths cover) Lyrics

Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore

Sing to me
Sing to me
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore

Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I will feel so glad to go

There is another world
There is another world
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well, there must be

Cover art for Asleep (The Smiths cover) lyrics by Emilie Autumn

I must say I love her cover. It's actually one of my favourite songs on the Deluxe Edition. Even though I, ironically enough, slept through it first time I heard the record. Exhausted, much?

But, well, I think it's about, well, falling asleep forever. Dying. Happily, it kinda seems. This person does not want to wake up alone anymore, which could mean that he/she is tired of being alone and just wants to die. And the last lines are about hope, hope that there is another world when you die. A beautiful song, indeed.
