E For Extinction Lyrics
I'm not the same as yesterday
Ooh...It's hard to explain
How things have changed
But I'm not the same as before
And I know there's so much more ahead
I can barely believe that I'm here
And I won't surrender quietly
Step up and watch me go
Break down, ya really want it?
Wanna make a scene?
Show me what ya mean
Let's get it started
Let me see whatcha got
Can ya take it up a knotch?
Don't think you got it
Can't handle the pressure?
Get, off, stop talkin' about it
Gotta make this count, let's go
When we move
We camouflage ourselves
We stand in the shadows waiting
We live for this and nothing more
We are what You created
I can feel the storm
The winds have changed
Ooh...'Cause we're worlds a part
But just the same
But we won't leave the way that we came
And I know there's so much more ahead
I can barely believe that we're here
We won't surrender quietly
Step up and watch it go
Are you ready? Are ya ready?
Are ya ready for me?
Are you ready? Are ya ready?
Are ya ready to see?
Ooh...It's hard to explain
How things have changed
But I'm not the same as before
And I know there's so much more ahead
I can barely believe that I'm here
And I won't surrender quietly
Step up and watch me go
Wanna make a scene?
Show me what ya mean

I think its about some one got saved "Ooh...It's hard to explain How things have changed But I'm not the same as before And I know there's so much more ahead I can barely believe that I'm here And I won't surrender quietly Step up and watch me go"
and how some christian are too much like the world
"When we move We camouflage ourselves We stand in the shadows waiting We live for this and nothing more We are what You created"
I think this song is talking about angels - or at least the chorus is.
"When we move We camouflage ourselves We stand in the shadows waiting We live for this and nothing more We are what You created"
I think angels camouflage themselves when they're watching over us, so we can't see them. And they wait in the shadows to come out when we're in trouble. I think they live just to serve God and that He is who created them.
The song, or at least the second paragraph, seems to be about a christian and a non-christian having a conversation about faith. How they are "worlds apart, but just the same".

And in the pre-chorus, I think it's the christian's thoughts as he starts to lose his cool, and the argument becomes more and more heated. "Ya really want it? Wanna make a scene? Show me what you mean... Let me see what you've got, can we take it up a knotch?"

The songs is about the soldiers out there in the war.
"I'm not the same as yesterday Ooh...It's hard to explain How things have changed But I'm not the same as before"
Says about what the soldier is seeing in the war. How it changed his mind.
"And I know there's so much more ahead I can barely believe that I'm here And I won't surrender quietly Step up and watch me go"
He knows that the war isn't over yet and that more war is to come. He can barely want to be there, but now that he is, he has to come back home so wont surrender quietly.

Shouts, commands and angry words during action or breaching throw buildings killing/capturing enemies.
"When we move We camouflage ourselves We stand in the shadows waiting We live for this and nothing more We are what You created"
Remembering that they are there, but who takes the credits are the government. They obey and wait for commands strategically. As they live that moment, that is what they are made of, they've been training, remembering the same government that they are what the government itself created, as they are, soldiers, fighters, killing machines.
"I can feel the storm The winds have changed Ooh...'Cause we're worlds a part But just the same"
Things are changing, maybe a hope to the war ends and to extraction to come, since they changed so much that there is no wish to be there again.
@quaker02 a really good interpretation I like it.

@quaker02 Makes sense because if you look at their name it can be interpreted as the march of the soldiers.

I really don't think there is a whole lot of meaning to this song. Trevor Mcnevan (lead singer, and writer) said that it came to him while he was watching movies, sports, and stuff.
TO me its always been a song about X-Men :)
People can get ideas for deep songs while watching a movie, it doesn't mean the movie influenced the song.

When I looked at this song I kinda came to the conclusion it's about Christians. They (we) blend into community as normal people ("When we move; We camouflage ourselves; We stand in the shadows waiting") and basically they're ready to convert others, that's what we were make for by God. Overall one of my favorite songs off the album.
why do christians always have to force there beliefs on non believers. i don't have a problem with christians and i respect their beliefs they don't have to try and make everyone else believe it. it should be a choice made by the individual, not forced upon by christians.

In my opinion, he explains what it's like when you're trying to change something in the world. Can relate to Christians, but doesn't have to. :)
And ps., how do you understand the strange title? xD Maybe the change we gotta make is fighting with our "extinction" (abortion, in vitro, etc). I dunno, I'm just pro-life ;).
This song reminded me of Fight club. It's about ordinary people and their anger created by those who think they are something more.
I believe it's the Fall. Satan is arguing with God, trying to match the beauty of His song but failing, making a violent terrifying but totally adrenaline-inducing rhythm
I feel like it's about a protest Turning into a Riot. "I'm not the same as yesterday Ooh...It's hard to explain How things have changed But I'm not the same as before And I know there's so much more ahead I can barely believe that I'm here And I won't surrender quietly Step up and watch me go

The government doesn't listen to us when we're calm so we get so serious meausures .
