Valium Lyrics
sometimes your love it's so pretty,
i just wanna sink in,
and sometimes your heart,
oh it's so pretty i just wanna live there,
oh i wish i could bottle it up.
and breathe it back like valium,
and sometimes your heart oh it's so pretty,
i just wanna live there.
so you and i find a scientist, to help me,
and if i meet the maker of all the universe,
i'll ask them why we're here and what we're here for,
and i'll tell them all the stories,
about our little world.
oh i've been waiting,
oh i've been waiting.
sometimes your love it's so quiet,
i don't even need to speak,
sometimes your heart it's so loud,
i can't even hear the beat,
oh i wish i could bottle it up,
and breathe it back like valium.
sometimes your heart is so quiet,
that i don't even need to speak,
oh i'll find a scientist to help me,
and if i meet the maker of all the universe,
oh i'll ask them why we're here and what we're here for,
and i'll tell them all the stories about our little world.
oh i've been waiting,
oh i've been waiting,
oh i've been waiting,
oh i've been waiting.
i wish i could bottle it up,
i wish i could bottle it up,
oh i wish i could bottle it up,
and breathe it back like valium.
i just wanna sink in,
and sometimes your heart,
oh it's so pretty i just wanna live there,
oh i wish i could bottle it up.
and breathe it back like valium,
and sometimes your heart oh it's so pretty,
i just wanna live there.
and if i meet the maker of all the universe,
i'll ask them why we're here and what we're here for,
and i'll tell them all the stories,
about our little world.
oh i've been waiting.
i don't even need to speak,
sometimes your heart it's so loud,
i can't even hear the beat,
oh i wish i could bottle it up,
and breathe it back like valium.
that i don't even need to speak,
oh i'll find a scientist to help me,
and if i meet the maker of all the universe,
oh i'll ask them why we're here and what we're here for,
and i'll tell them all the stories about our little world.
oh i've been waiting,
oh i've been waiting,
oh i've been waiting.
i wish i could bottle it up,
oh i wish i could bottle it up,
and breathe it back like valium.

beautiful song, saw her perform it a few nights ago. she is incredible!
I want this played for the first dance at my wedding. Such a heartbreakingly beautiful song about the softness, safety, and comfort of love.
i get the feeling this song is from the point of view of someone in a serious relationship who is terminally ill. it's got that typical sad music and Lisa compares her lover's heart to valium which could mean that his love is her comfort and painkiller. also one of the lines talks about "meeting the maker" meaning God, which is a reference to death.
Valium is not a painkiller.
Valium is not a painkiller.
This song is incredibly beautiful yet also incredibly sad. It is very nostalgic and philosophical. Her voice in this song is amazing and works so well with the music. She seems to be looking for a way to capture all the perfect moments of love and holding onto that feeling forever. :)
for some reason when i look up the lyrics to her songs, it ruins the songs... i absolutely wholeheartedly adore lisa, don't get me wrong, but seeing the posted lyrics wrecks the majesty...are these completely the correct lyrics? does the lyric booklet say so? i was lent this record to burn onto my ipod, so i can't know
please view this picture or any other image of valium: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Diazepam(Valium)_DOJ.jpg
the hearts in the center of the valium pills...i feel like that's not coincidental, don't you? i think lisa is trying to say she wants to create a drug, pill, or something (why she wants a scientist to help her) to preserve the feeling of love she feels for whomever she's singing about. she must take inspiration from the hearts (i know they're V's but let's be poetic) she finds in valium, to create her own pill with her and her lover's hearts inside them.
generally i said what everyone else has said just with a pretty picture involved.
i also agree it could be about the safety and protection of a relation- i never thought of that- in which she seeks his/her love like a painkiller. that would explain the waiting-- she's waiting and longing for that comfort...how many of you just die when you hear the, "I've been waiting"?
this song is so beautiful, and still that's such an understatement
I think this song is so beautiful. It gives off a desperate and longing for something feel, and you can tell from the music and lisa's voice that something has happened/going to happen. She refers her love to be like valium - a drug to ease anxiety and pain. This suggests love is her only escapism from the harsh ways of life. The quote "i'll find a scientist, to help me, and if i meet the maker of all the universe, i'll ask them why we're here and what we're here for, and i'll tell them all the stories, about our little world." suggest lisa is having trouble coming to terms with her faith and love, and needs help. This song is absolutely amazing, and it states all about how love can cure all pain.
