For me is about never being in love. Is about reaching a point in your life where you can only fantasize about how true love can be, cuz you´ve never felt it and never have felt love in that way that fairytales say it is suppossed to feel.
I reckon it's just waiting for your happy ending.
I agree with nesty28 on this one. Home is either literally a place to call home or metaphorically a person who makes you feel like you belong somewhere the most.
These lines

suggest that the speaker hasn't found this home yet.
"Are we there yet?" betrays impatience but at the same time anticipation for this home.
"Where you will lie on the rug while I play with the dog. And you won't be too much because this is too much."
Shows that even though the speaker has never found this home before, she doesn't expect it to be bombastic but rather low-key by using the imagery of just chillin' together with the pet one lazy afternoon.
I really love this song. :) Simple but meaningful lyrics and tune.
I think this is simply about someone, maybe a couple, going through a rough time, and just hoping and waiting that someday everything will fall in to place.
I think it just might be about getting hurt in a place you thought was 'home' and then trying to move on afterwards
I think this song is about trying to make a relationship work, that is probably incompatible. Both people are hoping it'll get better but they see that the relationship won't survive.
I think she is falling out of love: she is waiting to make somebody somebody. Maybe she is acknowledging that she hasn't found the right somebody, although she is hoping that maybe she just hasn't arrived at that love yet (she isn't there yet)

I absolutely love music. Everybody gets something different from a song and everybody experiences it in a different way. it's really hard 'to hear' what Ingrid is saying. But is very easy to understand that music has a different meaning to different people. In my opinion this song... it's all about doubts :)
