Descent Lyrics
D:The Descent from Destiny
By a Dark Deed Done
Was Disclosed in Divination
Death of a Dead man's son
Deranged, Deprived Delivery
Darkened his Decor
E: Ever-loathesome, the Executor's Edict
Estranges he from himself
Evermore
S: So Soon the Service
Sealed his fated Strife
A Sacrifice Seduced
To Save his threatened life
C: And Cowardace nor Commerce
Could Call the Child to Cease
Thought the Cycle of Criminal Commissions
Could never Co-exist with peace
He Could Count only
On the Combustion of his Chamber
As he lay the Child to the floor
E: Ever-loathesome, the Executor's Edict
Estranges he from himself
Evermore
N: Never to Neglect this Night again
As Naught for Nuances extend
Nocuously Numbing him into Nullification
T: Terribly Taken by The Task That Transpired
Tonight a Tantalizing new Testament was acquired
Thundering upon his tormented heart
From Temptation and Treachery
His almighty Teachings Tore him apart
By a Dark Deed Done
Was Disclosed in Divination
Death of a Dead man's son

Darkened his Decor
Estranges he from himself
Evermore
Sealed his fated Strife

It gives me the chills every time I listen to this song. Blatant it's about God and/or Jesus? Some sort of higher being. I haven't really sat down long enough long enough to really pull apart each section, but by far, favourite song off of empire theory album. It blows my mind away every time I listen to.
He descends from his purpose in life because he was did something evil for his own benefit. He, as well as the rest of mankind, is mentally weak and he could not resist whatever tempted him to commit the atrocity. For this he has regret and he hates himself. He obtains a wardrobe of dark attire to represent his sadness, regret, and overall bad feelings about himself. Neither begging nor money can help him now. He can’t forget the night he committed the act, and this causes him to become self-destructive. He’s so distraught and the night he was tempted into evil haunts him for the rest of his life.
