Goodbye Hollywood Lyrics
I've been swallowed up, spat out and kicked around
you really know where you stand, when it all comes down
They tried to clean me up, while they cleaned me out
They try to take what they can, but it all comes round
I never needed any one until I crashed into the sun
So goodbye Hollywood
You it just don't fit me like it should
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
I'm coming home
Life can build you up, just to knock you down
It takes a lot more than red, yeah to paint this town
I never needed any one until I crashed into the sun
So Goodbye Hollywood
You it just don't fit me like it should
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
I'm coming home
I feel my time has come, 'n I'm not the only one
I feel a time for a change, in a world come undone
You try and pull me in, I will push you out
You try to stop me you know I can scream 'n shout
So Goodbye Hollywood
Your sweet success don't taste that good
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
Yeah Yeah
Goodbye Hollywood
Goodbye Hollywood
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
So Goodbye Hollywood
I just don't need you like they said I would
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
you really know where you stand, when it all comes down
They tried to clean me up, while they cleaned me out
They try to take what they can, but it all comes round
You it just don't fit me like it should
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
I'm coming home
It takes a lot more than red, yeah to paint this town
You it just don't fit me like it should
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
I'm coming home
I feel a time for a change, in a world come undone
You try and pull me in, I will push you out
You try to stop me you know I can scream 'n shout
Your sweet success don't taste that good
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
Yeah Yeah
Goodbye Hollywood
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
I just don't need you like they said I would
Now I’ve found a place to call my own
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home

i heard an interview on the radio with chris, and he was talking about how this album (Shaka Rock) was really back to basics without spending big money for success eg. with Shine On when it turned out to be a flop. So im guessing Goodbye Hollywood is kind of a statement from Jet about how they're going back to the garage so to speak - "So Goodbye Hollywood,Your sweet success don't taste that good, Now I've found a place to call my own" However only 2 songs from the album were recorded in Australia so kinda makes me wonder what they're on about.
Whoa what? Shine On was a flop? I'm hoping that you only mean it didn't sell well, in which case I don't know why it sold so little, as I loved Shine On as much as I loved Get Born. I'm liking this album as well so far. Looks like Jet is 3 for 3 in my book :D
